Just a follow up on my last post above. Emailed on Memorial day weekend and two new locks arrived at my house today with prepaid postage to return the old ones.!! Now there is nothing bad to say about service. I will install this weekend.

A question for those with the new RV Locks. Are the batteries lasting any longer? The battery in my keypad died just before our beach trip. I replaced the battery the day we got there. Not even five days later the battery was dead. It was nice to have for the time it lasted, not having to carry the fob or a key. Is the Bauer lock any better? We have the older style, keypad on the side of the rig and the mechanism in place on the door. The fob battery lasts a long time, only have to replace the mechanism batteries about every 3 months or so. Thanks.

Be sure to use lithium batteries & if it's the old RV Lock brand the batteries are probably not dead just jarred loose. If you can tape or somehow secure them I think you'll be good. Mine were the same til the lock crapped out & the replacement lock the batteries fit much tighter.

Danny, wish it was the lock itself, those batteries are lithium and a drop of hot glue keeps them in place. They were great with the fob. It is the separate keypad that eats the cr2032 watch batteries like candy. The last couple have been the Energizer Lithium batteries and they are no better.

I don't use that key pad, even have a new one, as everytime it gets wet it doesn't work, whether rain or washing. They sent me the fobs so I took the battery out of the keypad.

My 2012 RL originally had the old style lock from RV Lock and I never really trusted it. Cade (from RV Lock) sent me a NEW AND IMPROVED style of their lock. It worked much better and was much more trust worthy.
I believe if you contact him, he'll shoot you a good deal on a new lock setup

There are 2 things I miss......
#1 I really loved my dually....that truck was my toy and I enjoyed driving it.
#2 I do miss the Redwood at times. It was a great RV, served us well and we pulled it all over the country. I roughly figured we had pulled it between 35-38,000 miles. I'm glad it's back on the road with a great couple who lives full time in it.
The Entegra....we love the coach and the company. They treat us like kings, always returning phone calls and even calling me to see if everything is okay. I've never experienced service like this before.
It's not perfect because it's an RV but it pretty damn nice

Our side mounted key pad battery (#2032) last about 18-months. I change both the lock and keypad batteries at the same time. I did notice on my key pad that that battery slot had some dead bugs up inside the battery slot. I cleaned the slot with a cotton tip wetted with denatured alcohol. The keypad works so much better since it was cleaned. I have on my long range list to replace the door lock. Our RW was partially broken into damaging the door and door lock. The door lock has two key slots. The upper key operated latch was broken while the lower latch survived.

Glad to see you're still around and very glad you enjoy the new coach. Great to hear from you again!

We recently shopped long and hard for a Class A including the Entegra. The dealers were offering a max of $40K on our like new fully decked RW which has about 500 miles and stored in a covered facility. Being our fourth RV we know of the depreciation issue however the offers were far to off the mark. The trade value on the truck was fine.

Bob,
you're right, that is an issue! We checked with dealers all over the country selling different brands and it was always the same. I only got around $40K for mine but decided that since I was making up the difference with the MH...... it was now or never. We decided to take the loss and get on with the new adventure.

Got any phone numbers for RV Lock We can't even get to them on the internet. Ours has never worked from day 1 and when in for service they never attempted to repair...Always a different excuse. We are now selling ours and would at least like to have a replacement for the new owner.
