RV Propane Refrigerator

I have always been told that the RV style refrigerators need to be level to work and for safety reasons.

Does anyone know if that is only when you are on Propane? I am also being told that even if you are on AC current, you need it level.

It is a real PITA in my driveway because of the front to rear pitch of the drive.

The propane fridge works on ammonia absorption with no circulation pump. It relies on gravity and level ground for the closed loop cooling system to function properly. Heating of this refrigerant by propane or electric element doesn't make a difference; if it's not level, the refrigerant won't circulate properly.
