RV Quality 101

If this wasn't so pathetic, it would be comical. And we wonder why there's no QC in the RV business. Honestly, I can't believe Jayco allowed something like this on YouTube..."Hey world, look at the pile of crap we just produced".

Not really impressed. By the video, it looks like they're more concerned with speed than putting out a good product. Yet Jayco is known to put out some good stuff and the only ones with a 2 year warranty.

As Redwood proved - its far cheaper to provide a good warranty than to build quality into the unit. You only have to pay one guy to deny claims, but probably another 30 workers to build that trailer right.

It took only "6" hours to completely build that TT.
Wow, that's not impressive

hmmmmmmmmmm... ???

Like Dave said, they are KNOWN for usually a good product... Maybe that is the trick, do it fast, not enough time to think about what you will not do properly>>

I particularly like the scene where the guy is chasing down the back end of the moving side wall....safety first eh?

If there's a better example of piece work, I haven't found it. I also like the reference to fiberglass insulation. I don't think so...unless of course, there's no interest in worker safety.

You can tell by the graphics and the manual awning and by the age of John McDonald that this video is about 10 years old and it’s a $20K trailer. It isn’t done too much differently today.

If they figured out a way of dinging the production workers for the warranty claims, I think the whole process would work better. Currently they're being rewarded for speed rather than quality.

Then to multiply the problem, the dealerships aren't held to any sort of standard either. So there two groups of people that don't care, the builders or the sellers.
