RW breaking away from Lippert??

Just anounced: Redwood, Cameo Add ASA iN-Command System
Here's the Link: Redwood, Cameo Add ASA iN-Command System | RV Business
Maybe the new Management will come through after all. At least it's a start.

I saw that today also. Here is a link to a 4+ minute video from Jensen/ASA regarding the iN-Command system:

How about standard with 8K axels, Disk Brakes, 17.5" Tires and IS. that is where they should start and build up from there.

Add to that, Different slide out switches for all slideouts, relocate the batteries to a more convenient location, plumbing manifold system, better roofing system, ...........OMG, I think we may have just discovered an RV many would love to have. If all this was done at the factory as standard equipment, it would probably cost half of what many of us have invested after market.

Kinda like going to a Buffett with only dessert, WHERE'S the meat & taters? More pretty technical stuff & nothing that matters so far!

I won't argue with any of the comments, but at least it's a start of breaking from total Lippert.

Rick, it sounds like you're describing a DRV...

So much for the FALCON FIT - this breaks that concept.

All, except for the Box Frame. Don't think that DRV is not high on my list if I ever trade.

That's just silly, since after reading this thread I thought Redwood is shutting down, not even taking orders.

As an Electrical Engineer in the Controls industry, it has always been my personal opinion that home automation systems and this Jensen/ASA do not work well in the long run when put in homes/RVs that are meant to last many, many years. Ten years ago we were switching from IPOD's to IPhones. How many of you had bought homes with dated intercom's in them? Home Automation needs to run in parallel with manual systems in such a way they can be easily upgraded or removed, not baked into the home(or RV)

I have had an iPhone for a few years and now some of my apps no longer work and there is no support for running my old apps on the third updated system. I purchased a top of the line Garmin that had an app that married the phone and the GPS together and Garmin has failed to spend much resources in the phone app. This would make me nervous for sure. At this time looks to be really nice system. Then again so did my GPS now 3 years old.

Three to five years is about the limit for technology before it becomes obsolete or noticeably dated. For that reason alone, why would you want to bake it into a structure that is to last 10 years or more.

When I used to be in the hardware business people would ask me my opinion on getting an all in one device...

space saving, yes they are,
but break down of one causes all of them to go into the repair shop

It looks like Redwood is wanting to be the first for new and innovative while hoping the real issues will not be seen. The weak links must be addressed.

After attending the rally. There will be some surprises being announced once they roll out to the dealers maybe not surprises but long over due changes

Since you appear to be suggesting that you're "in the know", I'd like to hear an example of just one of these changes.

We were asked not to let out any info until they have a chance to role it out to their dealers. Which I believe is coming up shortly. Changes are for the better

Hush! Hush! and being secretive is not!..................especially to those that have a financial interest in the company. It's OK, they can play their silly little game. I guess they are afraid someone might steal their ideas.

Bottom line is Redwood is still a "For Profit Company" and any competitive edge that can have is a good thing for them.

There have been a number of really good RV Companies go out of business over the years because there could not survive, control their "Cost of Goods", Labor costs, warranty costs and get a return in this competitive business / marketplace.
