Brad, when I did mine a year and a half ago the IS was $3500 with 8k. I had 7k but wanted the upgrade. I know I sound like a broken record, but still the best money I have spent on the coach.

I strongly feel that the IS is the best thing going,,,, with that said , now that I have the SRE 4000, the difference between the 2 is not worth 3K in my eyes.. It is a great option for those of us who cannot or will not spend the extra for the IS.
If you read the specs,,,, I believe the travel distance of the IS covers 5"-5-1/2"... And the 4000 is 4"- 4-1/2" .. Or close..while the standard Equaflex is 3"

I would agree. I love the IS but it is pricy and a major job. I think, like you said, putting the SRE 4000 on and then possibly adding the JoyRider Shock kit like Jim did would be a close second.

You're are all forgetting that those other options still leave you with OEM axles, spring hanges and such. All things that have given others problems and even if you add the Correct Track option, it's still limited in it's adjustment. While the IS is Laser aligned and can be re-adjusted if needed. If you stay with the OEM axles/spring setup, I think the X-Factor braces would also be needed to help stiffen the spring hangers.
Would be interesting to tally up all the preposed options and see how it comparied to the IS.

Good point. And for the record I have no regrets at all doing the IS. So far a bit more than 8k mikes on it and no tire wear or other issues and the ride and handling is great.

Ya I'm stuck with the 4000 not compatible with the 8K springs. Redwood sent me shorter shackles that they used to fix the 8K spring issue. I'll try that first, and if it corrects the problem then I'm fixed. I don't really have any complaints on my ride - I did the video and I believe most agreed it was rather un-sensational, even though I was a bit shocked at the trauma that stuff goes through.
