I ended up getting a Pathway X2. The trees are to thick in most camps and didn't think the roof was for us. Dish Network for RV as you need it. Olly pay for the months I use it.

On the RL type, the control cable is always too short to mount the dish centered between the two A/Cs so you need to splice. Turns out, Winegard includes another control cable in the box with the dish. I used enough of it to splice into the Redwood pre-wire below the roofline where it will stay dry.

This is my first time with a dish on a RV. In the past we didn't see the need simply because we don't watch much TV with the exception of the news which I can get on my I-pad.

We have had 2 times in the last 6 months that the dish just wouldn't work due to the trees. I guess if I was full time i'd have to get another dish for those times. We have a greater problem with getting the internet which is more important to us

More and more parks are catching on about the high usage of Sat TV and can offer Sat Friendly sites if you ask. Not all parks, but we generally ask if it looks like they have lots of trees.

Interesting how the Web sites can show all those nice pretty trees and you get there and can't even find a bush, or the flip side where they show these big open sites with not a tree in site, but you get there and can't hardly get in because of all the trees.

The worst is when you arrive & you hear tree branches raking your front cap & roof because it doesn't occur to them to have maintenance trim them up 15' over overhead or decently on the sides of their roads. Now... back to the topic
