It looks like the one offered my MorRyde that I've seen offered at several places on line. I was thinking about getting one but than I don't know where I would mount it. I have a place for everything when we hit the road, and if I had that I would have to get rid of something or figure out where I could move else. Still in the thought stage.

They're advertised in the Trailer Life magazine (by MOR/Ryde) but my wife found this one at "dyersonline.com". I've had it for a year now and I haven't had any problems with it. In the winter when that 50 ft power cord is stiff it still fits on the reel without a problem.

On our yacht, we had an automated power real for our 50 amp cable. The cablemaster system was made by Gendinning. Really nice. Now how to figure out how to install it.

I like it, but it has the wrong end sticking out!
Ive seen the electrics on fifth wheels when we were looking, just don't remember who it was that had them.

Just installed a hard wired surge protector this weekend. Put it next to the transfer switch in the battery compartment

I would like to take credit for this, but the previous owner installed this. They added 2 plugs on each side of the coach in the front. They plug a cord into the outlet in the control center and then plug the other end into 1 of the plugs underneath. I know it is against code, but it works pretty slick, and looks nice. Since it is all black, it matches the frame.

just make sure you plug it in to the new receptacles first. If you plug it into the convencience center plug first the other male end is hot!

What's all that stuff on the ground in pic #1? Hope it isn't related to the surge protector.

If you mean picture #2, it's the water hose with the heat tape on it. Picture #1 was the surge protector next to the transfer switch

A fun modification - we have always had a doorbell and it has become a standing joke in our circles. Originally installed on our first rig for our Grandson, we received this wireless one as a Redwood warming gift to keep up the tradition.
A practical resolve suggested by the Dealer to prevent cargo from hitting the awning buttons on the road (catastrophic). These are just outdoor plastic outlet covers from Home Depot and fit over the switches.
And a more complicated mod but easily installed - a Progressive 50A built in surge suppression.

Brad, I am installing my progressive 50 amp tomorrow but I have noticed on the colored photos of the unit in the pamphlet that the unit may have to be installed upside down....would you take a picture of your EMS with the cover off .. I called progressive and they agreed that the photos and information are not to correct...I can't tell from your picture where the lines come in or where they go to...I am not cutting any major wire...I propose to do as TallPines did and remove the wire in the center (or on the left ) of the transfer box and connect to the sensor side of the EMS and add new wire from the other side and connect to the transfer box.....What the EMS guy said was the power cable from the center of the transfer box connects to the sensor side where the readings are taken and the other side is just the adjustment connection back to the transfer box...I think I need a drink or 2...If my directions weren't screwed up I'm sure I wouldn't be bothered by this....Maybe if I could get a picture of the transfer box and Ems at the same time with covers off and and at least one of the wire between trsfr box and EMS that would solve my problem...By the way Brad it seems as though you have mastered the photo process

Did you check out my video of the installed surge protector EMS unit in my 36RL?
If you have any further questions or need something clearer, I can pop out to the trailer tomorrow and take some pictures.

But the directions clearly state, "ONLY TO BE INSTALLED BY YOUR RV DEALER OR A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN"!
