Showing my lack of knowledge on electronics
So, my RW is suppose to have:
LG FM/AM/CD/DVD home Theater System w/5.1 surround and a
Subwoofer.
Now to me there should be 5 speakers somewhere and a subwoofer, but what I see is the TV and a sound box (Cinema SB200), and the blue ray DVD player.
Is this sound box suppose to be the FM/AM/CD home Theater System w/5.1 surround system?
Thanks

If you're talking about the sound bar under the tv then it's probably a much better system than all the speakers scattered on my ceiling, am actually considering adding a sound bar & disconnecting this other junk. By the way if you have a sub woofer it's behind the fireplace.

We just looking at some new RWs, looks like Home Theater is GONE. Just a cheap looking DVD Player and the Sound Bar under the TV. No speakers in the ceiling or anywhere else.

FWIW, the surround sound in mine is better than any soundbar I've ever heard.

I think Redwood changed to a soundbar - (hopefully one with a subwoofer somewhere).
Whatever your source is for surround sound (brochure, website) it's most likely outdated.
Our surround sound is great, but I also get good performance from a soundbar at home with a wireless subwoofer, so I would be OK either way.

I don't have any complaints about the sound system in our early model 2012 but they may have changed them.

Now that I have relocated our SubWoofer to a better location, we are happy with our 5.1 Ceiling mounted 5 Speaker setup / SubWoofer.

On thing we noticed about the new setup, I don't think they could have gotten a Cheaper DVD player. At least what we saw was not larger than an external CD/DVD player for a Computer.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope they don't start trying to save money to the point of hurting the product.

hahaha, the accountants are always involved.
Don't discount the change till we see what it was. Just because its small may just mean its a dvd drive only. If it doesn't have the surround sound, it doesn't need to be big.

^In my 15 model the DVD is a small LG blu-ray player/with wireless internet apps, like Netflix/Vudu/Pandora. The only thing I have as far as an external speaker setup is the sound bar. I'm happy with all of it. I don't even use that sound bar because I don't like the surround type sound that comes from it. I never did like TV sounds that sound like an echo.

I went from an nice, expensive 7.1 surround to a small soundbar with wireless sub and it is twice the sound quality .... I may do that in the rv too since I don't like the ceiling placement of the speakers.
And the new 4k bluray I was given is MUCH smaller than the one it replaced, stunning pictures on that new 70" screen at home...
My wife gave the installers the evil eye when they noted that an even bigger tv COULD be fitted on the fireplace !!!

Was just out last night looking at a 70 or an 80 so the cabinet guy can finish in the family room. Didn't know about ultra HD - still in awe of 3D. So does the ultra HD require a different Blue Ray?

Technical real world statistics - can't tell you and actually was worried all the hype in the stores was just that once we got it home...
so don't know if our 60" sharp was that bad, or this Sony is that good..
but three football games, and two episodes from netflix 4k collection and WOW...
both the wife and I think it's crystal clear!
she's had the lassiks done, so she's actually having to adjust to the size and clarity of it !
We didn't bother with 3d before, but this tv came with 2 sets of glasses so may try it...
BUT, HAD to spend the $150 for a matching 4k upscaling bluray that we've not used yet !

Is the Netflix 4K a DVD in the mail or online? I have Netflix but we quit getting the DVDs.

but looks great http://www.netflix.com/search/4k

Brad,
AFAIK, 4k is only streaming on Netflix...can you imagine the amount of data required! Blow through the data caps in minutes! Not much content yet. Yes, you'll need a whole new DVD player as well.

AFAIK there isn't any disc method to display true 4K content. Early adopters are getting movies shipped to them on hard drives, but people are working on a Blu-Ray disc equivalent. And yes, you will need a new disc player to play it.

Hmmm - no cap on the home system so might work. I honestly didn't know Netflix had that.
I was watching a 70 in Sams Club (Vizio) and it looked pretty awesome. Probably not something I want to miss out on when we upgrade the house. What does AFAIK mean?
