i have the worst smell coming from my kitchen sink. it did smell like maybe food was stuck in the trap, but since i filled the tank up, and drained it,, it now smells like crap. don't know what else to do.

More then likely the vent needs replaced. The vent system on most RV use a one way waterless trap that lets air in but not out. If the rubber flap gets turned inside out it lets the smell come into the coach. look under the sink and that area for a 1 1/4" pipe that doesn't look like your typical round pipe or a pipe that dead ends vertical. That would be the vent system , chances are it needs replaced .

Thank you so much for responding... we cleaned it out, cause the flap was still closing, if it continues we will change it out.

The trap is named a “Hepvo” trap. When they were originally installed they place a warning sticker near by to indicate to remove the Hepvo if doing a clean out of the drain line or they can and will be damaged. They can be installed horizontally or vertically and work well until they don’t. Certain things have been know to plug them up so they don’t allow water to pass. Shaving cream. Tooth paste to name a few. If replacing be sure to tighten well and to check for leaks with plenty of water through the drain and the Hepvo.

If it is not the Hepvo valve/trap it could also be the air admittance valve. That has a spring loaded flapper that closes and keeps the doors out. They are mounted up high under the countertop and simply screw on.
