Storage slides
I would like to purchase a storage slide to put in my lower garage area of our 38GK. Anyone have a recommendation or some good reviews on theirs?

I'll be watching this one... to me the perfect slide would be one that extends the entire width of the coach and slides out in either direction.

I'm really surprised Redwood didn't offer that as an option.

Just did a quick search, there are many different options but found that MORryde offers them. There are a variety of different lengths/widths, the largest they offer are 90"x52". I measured the openings on my FB, the curb side is ~27", the door side is ~47" so if you wanted one to stretch the entire width of the coach the best fit would be the 26"x90". Did a search on Amazon, they list this model for $421.95

Lippert has them on their site as well. I saw the slides which are offered by Moryde at the Hershey RV show. Very sturdy unit, imho.

Our 38GK has an angle on the inside to allow for the controls for dumping etc. So we would only be able to go 44"x48" unless we cut it down to about 24" and went the full width. Just want a good brand that will hold up and lock so it won't move.

I have slide out trays on almost all of my lower cupboards @ home, and you always lose some usable space installing them. However, you can access places you don't normally reach. I think an ideal place to use one of those slide outs would be the front compartment, under the nose. (I don't have a generator)

Have thought about a slide tray in the cross compartment of previous campers. After looking at units that had them in, and thinking seriously about it decided I didn't want one. You lose too much useable space, and if a person packs right, I can get at the stuff I usually need. Especially where Redwood has the two shelves across the front that a person can put a lot of the stuff he often needs.

I also considered getting one for our FL, but as outside storage is at a premium, decided that I couldn't afford to give up any space.

Anybody checked out the under chassis slide out storage system from Lippert? Could be a good alternative for those of you needing extra storage.

I have, and I'm not impressed at how the look under the "J" skirt or whatever that bottom piece is called. The drawers are ideal for a flat sided rig, but the taper at the bottom of most 5ers now looks kind of weird with that drawer sticking out at the bottom.

We had an excellent slide system on our last 5er...
(This is our trade in !)
and while it seemed great - actually got in the way ...
took up way more space than it gave us IMHO

I also thought it would eat up space, got to lower your height capacity by at least 4-6 inches???
I need more space, not less!!

Basement Sliding Tray
I have found a 50" slide on Amazon for $58.00 plus $20.00 shipping. I plan to make a 46"X50" sliding tray on the curb side of my 2015 38RL. I have some sheets of solid core 3/4" maple plywood laying around from my cabinet making hobby of a few years ago, so I think they will work if I seal them well. The slides are only rated 400# for the pair, so they won't hold the 800# that MoRyde's does, but they sure fit my budget better!
Any thoughts from you pros?
