Stupid Door Problems Again

Well we took our RW out of storage last weekend for the First time since the front Door Replacement. What a mess they made on the install and I did not notice it when we picked up the RW. I guess I was not awake that day.

Dealer put two long of screws in the hold down latch and they went through the rubber seal at the bottom of the door and into the door jam base plate. I replaced with correct screws but then noticed that the door is now bowed at the bottom. Now when you are inside you see light around the door jam at the bottom because it does not seal against the jam.

The door is not aligned correctly and has large gap at the bottom and small gap at the top on one side and opposite at the other. even the screen door is out of alignment and has about a half in gap at the bottom.

What A Mess!!!! Guess its time for a second try.

Oh wow, was this a dealer that done the work?

One thing I have done to prevent door issues is remove one of the top and bottom hinges. Left the middle hing with both attached to the door. This still give the door with one hing on top, two in the middle and one at the bottom. The door closes so much better after doing this.

The new door does not seem as stiff as the original door. but I will have to look at what you did. I talked to dealer today they are willing to redo the door. Not sure I am willing to let them try. Still under warranty and I could use a different deal about the same distance from us. but I am not doing anything until fall going to use the RW all summer first.

That looks like the dealer has no clue how to repair and installed it like the original.
If at all possable go to the RW service center and it will be done right.
We had both doors replaced.

Going to the RW center would be a 2100 mile trip each way. Thinking they will need to learn to fix it or they will be doing it again and again until right.

Yes and agreed that is a bit to far... It was only an 850 mile journey for me each way.

HEY Steve this is Tony who had the Joy Ryder questions for you. We did our factory trip in April. 2200 miles each way from out here in California but it was the only way to get our Redwood 2016 38GK fixed properly. The guys that worked on our rig were great. Its a long ride but worth it.
