Thermostat issues ? Main unit

New issue popped up. turn ceiling heat pump on starts runs 10 seconds if that, then floor heater comes on instead? no roof heat

It was working correctly before for last 2 months now

thermo set for elect heat

I need to diagnose malfunction

Ac works fine.

please advise

its summer here soon in dallas but still need to fix

maybe thermostat is acting up?

Don't forget that if you set the heat pump to a temp that is greater than 5 degrees, I think, than what the current temp is, it will automatically turn on furnace. try increasing your temp to 2 degrees above current temp and see if it still does it.

If your room temp was 5+ degrees difference than you set the thermostat the furnace will start til the temp catches up, just move the thermostat 2-3 degrees at a time above room temp & see what happens.

I also have a heat pump issue. It worked all winter and now when set to electric no matter what temp the Thermostat is set the furnace kicks on. It works on air but not heat pump. Any ideas before I go up and tear it apart

Go up to the outside of the unit and look for a cylinder shaped object on the street side of the unit. It should have 4 wires coming out of the sensor. The sensor attaches the lower copper pipe of the condenser. If this fell to off the unit will not start in heat pump mode.
