Trailer wiring box relocation
There is an electrical box mounted on the back of the pin box frame that is an eye sore for me.
Has anyone relocated theirs or just eliminated it all together?
Just looks kind of tacky sticking out there.

You mean this one ?
The one that kept striking the bed cover rails on mine ?!?
it's held on by two self tapping screws so always though I could swing it up INSIDE the pin box, but never got around to it...

Yes sir! That would be the one. I'm thinking of removing the box and installing a receptacle like on a semi truck up inside of the pin box area and using a double male ended cord. Then when I turn all I have to worry about is the cord.
Very cheap and terrible location. Bad enough on clearance but to add another 1.5 inches to an already tight area is ridiculous. Grade school craftsmanship on that.

The wires were completely melted in mine. The compression clamp for the cable was on so tight that it dug into the wires. This was not designed for movement.

I moved mine too. It always bothered me that they used a typical in the wall junction box instead of a weather tight better looking box. I had a wasp nest in mine.

I moved mine to the inside of the pin box using the same screw holes. It was an accident looking for a place to happen where it was mounted on the outside

Well I also moved the box inside of the pin box last night. Getting ready to go on a short trip and the last thing I want to worry about is this Home Depot box touching my bed rails. Later when time allows I'm going to come up with something a lot better.

I always thought they got moved if they installed optional pin boxes at the factory.

Yup mine came that way from the factory also. I must have had the "A" team during the build as I haven't had any of the problems most of you have had, except for that electrical short in the slide within the slide and them dam bearings
Crossing my fingers and toes that nothing pops up

Ya I have been dropping around here when I get a chance. We would have been getting ready to leave AZ by now but we have been looking after our daughter and her family as she had to undergo a major operation and has had complications with the outcome then on top of that just lately our son lost their daycare so we have been looking after our 18 month granddaughter for 3 days a week man oh man you know your old when
