Unknown wire harness

I found this wire harness in the wall cavity behind the antenna booster in my 2012 36FL.... anyone know what it's for?

It's the prewire for the Winegard satellite antenna. The other end of the cable is under a protective cover on the roof.

Jim is 100% correct, in our case that plug is plugged into our Winegard control box for our Traveler SlimLine Dish on the roof.

Wow! I am amazed that back then they were actually installing wall plates that had markings on them showing what the plate was for. I guess it got to expensive to actually continue to do that so we would have some idea what the devil each connection is? Now we get a handful of orange wires with some coded message taped to them with no one on the planet earth knowing where they go, including the guy that installed them. That was one huge plus with the Landmark wall outlets with actual words that told you what was in the wall, go figure!

I guess the dealer didn't know this cable existed when they installed the Winegard Travler on our unit. They installed the control box in a different location.
@ Slideone... I labeled the connectors about 6 months after buying our Redwood... We weren't always able to get a satellite signal when we were traveling and I couldn't remember which terminal was for antenna and which was for cable... Nice of Redwood to pre-wire for satellite but not label anything.

What a great spot for the harness. I suppose it's supposed to be a secret?

I'm glad they prewired, but it is a deep secret. I wouldn't have known unless someone told me from the original forum.

The other end is even in a more bizarre location - taped to one of the coax cables inside the roof.

Don't feel bad. When we had the Traveler installed on our '12 36RL the Installer either didn't know or just didn't check, so he ran a new control line the length of the roof, then thru the roof into the bedroom cabinet next to the TV. Needless to say I wasn't overly happy, but at least they got it right on our '16 39MB

Is the wiring harness for the satellite control on the roof under the cap for the two coax connection?

I have a 2016 38GK, I too have the two sealed connectors on the roof and was wondering if the traveler wire is in that area as well. Any help would be appreciated as I am getting have my new winegard traveler and want to install it as soon as possible but not excited about making a new hole somewhere in my roof. Also I have the orange wires in the cabinet above the TV in the living room. Thanks Quentin

If you enlarge the pic in AA's post #7 you'll see the cable with the molex type connector in with the coax cables. That's the control cable for the Winegard Dish installation.

Really!

When is Redwood going to put the blame wires on a wall connector plate and label them? It is ridiculous we have to chase down their wiring.....come on Redwood these are suppose to be high end Rv's. I know Landmark has had there's done the right way since at least 2013!

Some of ours were labeled, but the labeling was wrong.

The connector in the bathroom is for the maxx air vent. The other end is located in the wall by the fan switch. It plugs into a control box head like the kitchen unit.

Thanks. That is exactly where the wires were. Just long enough to reach the Winegard Travler, Now on the side of common sense one would think the front connector would be for the bedroom and the rear one for the living room but contraire mine were reversed. Sure am glad that I purchased a Jonard PT300 cable tester from Amazon and it works great. The only disadvantage was the climbing up and down to move it from one cable to the other. With that said it is completely installed and working as advertised. Really is an easy installation after you locate the wiring and trace it out. Thanks for your reply. Quentin
