My wife and I have a 36FB, 2012 Redwood. I recently replaced my anode rod for the first time. There was quite a bit of sludge and debree in the bottom of the water heater. It was too heavy to flush out with a hose. I could get very little of it with my fingers since the opening is pretty small.

Any suggestions on how to get the debree out?

I have used a baby bottle washer. It fits the hole and the bristles help remove the debris.

there is a yellow plactic tube that you can attach to a water hose to clean out your water heater, you can buy it from camping world you can aim it and it has an on off control. be sure to cut off the power to your water heater when cleaning or you will burn up the element

I made a similar flusher just from material bought at the hardware store. Another thing a person can do to help flush out the water heater, is to open the inlet valve to the heater and let the water run out the rod hole. I'll sometimes plug the hole until the heater is about half full and then unplug the hole. This will give you a little better flushing action.
