Water heater just decided that Luke-warm is acceptable! Is this symptomatic of anything special??

You didn’t list what year and model redwood you have. Also is this happening on electric only or lp only or both? Not sure if you are plugged into shore power or not. Have you checked the breaker for your water heater? Please post back with more information.

This happened to ours last year. There's a combination thermostat and hi limit assembly under a black cover. When I took ours apart the wiring connections were charred. I replaced it with a new one, cleaned up the charred wire and put some new wire connectors and works as good as new. It's a fixed 130 degree thermostat. I found one at an RV dealer in Mesa AZ, but here's a link to one on Amazon if you suspect it's bad

We just went through this a couple of months ago. Replaced the AC T-stat/Hi limit and all good.
Two screws to remove the cover, two fast-on connectors to remove and one nut holding it against the tank. Approx 10 minute job if you take a break between removal and install.

Also if you've used the outside shower pressed the button on the shower head to off leaving both hot/cold faucets on it will mix the hot/cold causing lukewarm water. This is the simplest check.

This seems to be an frequent issue. I have a 2012 36RL (built Sept.2011) with the Suburban water heater. The second year of ownership (winter of 2013/2014), the water heater stop heating on electric. After some troubleshooting, I found that the thermostat (with link listed above) was faulty. I went to a local Camping World near Pensacola, FL and their parts department had the part available. I bought two and still have the second part in my parts bin. I also found that the wires connecting were charred and poorly crimped to the quick connect terminals. That would have been poor workmanship at Suburban. I reworked the terminals, replaced the thermostat and haven't an issue with it since then. We live in the coach 3 to 4 months every year in Florida.
