Water Softener Suggestions

My 2021 Redwood needs a water softener and I'm looking for suggestions. Also, if possible, I would like to hook it up inside the large hatch where the water valve manifold, access to the leveler hydraulic fluid, etc., are located to protect the softener from freezing. Pic is the water valve manifold.

I would NOT hard pipe a water softener in the basement. They need to have a recharge with salt and reinstalled after its flushed some. You don't want to have salt spill in the basement. You could connect it with soft hoses in line with your city water connection and have it inside the basement next to the manifold possibly. You should have the water checked to see how big of a water softener you need. RV style softeners use standard hose connections, they should not be left in the sunlight for extended periods.

I used one of the " On The Go OTG4-DBLSOFT-Portable 16,000 Grain RV Water Softeners" for 7 years. I recharged it generally once per month and it performed very well. Here s a link to Amazon:
On The Go OTG4-DBLSOFT-Portable 16,000 Grain RV Water Softener

Hope this helps.

Water Softener

I full time in a 2019 3941FL, so quick setup at camp is important. I wanted my water filter and softener mounted in my water compartment wich I did. I have a supply hose that comes out below with a quick connect. I used a series of shut off valves and Y connectors to provide a outside water source and to also shut off incoming water when we are out of camp. I also have a permanent black tank flush. Things our tight but maintenance is easy. Stand-off your softener so spilt water can dry. After 5 years it was worth the effort.

Thank you for the info, it is helpful. Additionally, I would like to hook up an extra water heater in the "basement" and need to know exactly where I can tie into it, supposedly onto that manifold. The RV is permanently parked.
