GloRVing....can you please be more specific about your mattress. I looked up Montana brand of mattress and couldn't find one by that name. Thanks!

The 1st thing I did was get rid of the slats/framing & put in a 1/2" plywood platform then the OEM mattress with a topper was tolerable for a while til we replaced it with a memory foam ordered online, can't recall the brand.

We looked at the Montana website, and I was just wondering.....which firmness did you get? Plush is their most popular, according to their website. It's about a medium firmness, but they also offer a FIRM. We want support, but we don't want anything too firm. Thanks if you get this!

How did you ever remove the king mattress?? Did it actually fit through the door? We want to switch ours for a queen. Will probably need to alter the bed frame.

We went with the sleep number bed and love it.. Had to modify platform by removing slats with frame and replace with plywood platform. I think it actually lessened the weight of the slide.

We made a queen out of our king mattress so we would have room to walk beside the bed and also make the bed!! It was easier than expected. You can cut a foam mattress with an electric kitchen knife and it does a great job!!

Any mattress that can be cut with a knife CANNOT be good for my back !

I swapped my mattress after the first year and LOVE IT... Got it shipped in from Indiana, Williamsburg Furniture made it.

Sorry to hear about your bad back, My point was that ANY foam mattress can be cut with an electric carving knife regardless of the quality. Certainly hope you find relief for your back pain, and Happy Holidays (Merry Christmas)

We love our Sleep Number, so when changing Units it's the first thing moved into the new unit.
It's now in it's third unit.

We've replaced our mattress (and box springs) with plywood and foam. Currently sleeping on 4" thick 1845 rated foam....just replaced the couch seats with 2045 rated foam. Purchased both locally and on line from foam/fabric/upholstery shops.

We sleep better on the $250 foam than we ever did on multiple $3000+ beds.

I have a 2016 38RL and the mattress size seems funky. I have 73 inches width in the slide in slide section where the headboard is. All of the King size mattresses I am looking at are 76 inches. How are you making these fit?

A typical RV King is 72"W x 80" L
That's the size that was in our '10 Montana 2955RL, '12 36RL, and current '16 39MB
and our Sleep Number has been in all three.

Purple Mattress

We changed out our RW mattress for a queen Purple Mattress. In downsizing to a queen we were able to put an automatic lift, and it also gives us more room around the bed. Love the head and foot lift, it was worth the extra width, at least for us. We cut down the plywood platform to fit it.

Hi! We're just now getting around to buying a mattress for our Redwood. We've decided on the Montana brand. How in the world did you get it inside your RV?
