We hate our mattress. Options, please?

Hi folks,
We didn't like the OEM king-sized mattress in our 38RL. So we bought a gel-topper at Costco, and we couldn't get rid of that thing fast enough. When we slept we would sink down in so much that I almost needed a crane to get me out of bed in the a.m. Then we bought an egg-shell crate foam topper, which was better, but after 2 seasons we are now seeing large depressions where our hips are, and we wake up sore every morning. Rather than replace the entire mattress, is there a topper out there that any of you have that won't allow you to sink down in a hole?

We replaced ours with good quality king mattress works great. Mattress that comes with RW is junk. Best to get new mattress and sleep in comfort.

In my opinion you should get a sleep number. There is a special one for RV if you look on their website. I believe Camping World had a sale and member price when I bought mine IIRC. If not you can get them online. The RV size it a little different and the foam they use on the boarder is also different than residential. We love ours and the best thing is we sometimes want it set different and have that option.

Well worth the money for a good nights sleep!

Sleep Number RV King. Had to put a 110 V receptacle under the bed to power the pump but the adjust-ability is great. CW has the sleep number R5 in seven sizes. They are light and ship to your door.

Our Sleep Number is not in it's third unit and still sleeps the same as day one.

has anyone ever put in a bed lift after market? You know, an adjustable frame that raises just your head?

Wanting to put out sleep number in our 31sl. Just wondering how you modified the slats to hold the sleep number?

No advice on the bed. But just wondering if you’re a fiddle player.

Montana Mattress

We replaced our King mattress with a Montana brand. We are very, very happy with this choice. It is firm, thick and supportive and seems to be very well made. It comes in a box like many other mattresses of this kind and needs several hours to expend to its full volume.

I actually removed the OEM Plywood and installed new Plywood that was closer to the size of the mattress. Seems OEM Plywood is sized for a Queen size and doesn't change if you order with a King.

We have a king sleep number but also put a topper which brought it to the next level for me as I have spinal stenosis. The topper is about $100 from amazon called Linenspa. Investment in a better sleep is worth it!

We replaced ours with the top of the line Original Mattress Factory product. It is 16' thick and heavy. Sleep like a rock. DW sometimes has to come up and check my breathing.

Maybe 16" thick? Our Redwood isn't that tall inside.

RWJSIM2003....Totally agree. But they don't make mattress shopping easy. It's such a difficult choice. Thanks!

xtasee....For some reason we've never been huge fans of the sleep number beds, having tried them in stores. But at your suggestion (and others) we took a look at them. Camping World doesn't have any you can actually lie down on....only small samples of what they are. And we need to actually try them out. Glad you like yours though! Thanks!
