Yea..I think they should give credit for the tires and wheels that they take off. It's too late for me but maybe others should just stay with the E rated and then buy the G rated tires and wheels on line. That way they could sale the original wheels and tires even at a cut throat price and be money ahead.

I like Redwood but if they want to compete with the higher level of RV's than they have to have all of their basis covered and show folks that they've thought of everything towards safty and class.

How can they giv you credit for something you did not get, the E rated tires are figured as part of the price of the overall purchase but you added as an option the G rated tires and to purchase them after you pick up your rig would mean paying almost double for them.

Your earlier math was right on. Even more so when you conside that you are buying 5 tires (including the spare). The price of (5) G614s on-line, plus the wheel upgrade, plus shipping, mounting, balancing - that's pricey! Then having to dispose of the OEM wheels/Marathons, ugh...

When you consider the G614 upgrade (mine cost MSRP $1,610 before the increase) is then reduced by the discount you dealt on your unit, the upgradeprice is so low it doesn't come close to even covering the price of the tires! You are only paying the incremental cost (ie.they are obviously crediting you for not having to supply the OEM wheels/tires).

Yeah, at $1610 for the upgrade the G614s were a no brainier. But when the dealer told me it would be $500 more, I had to stop and think. BTW the G614s are 1" taller than the Marathons, makes the coach taller. Also the Marathons are speed limited to 65 mph. 66 mph to 75mph calls for them to carry an extra 10psi, but only if the wheels are rated for the extra 10psi. See Goodyear Tire Bulletin: http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires...plications.pdf

I did not know this about the extra ten pounds of air pressure that would explain some of the blow out damage I've seen.

[QUOTE=John317] I don't know about units rolling off the line today, but units ordered now will be 2013, since I ordered mine with almost all the options including FBP, I was told by the dealer it would be a 2013 and that's what my signed build sheet.

CORRECTION: The information I was given by my dealer was incorrect. There are no 2013's being built as of now. Redwood is not planning a MY change until fall of this year. My salesman and his manager assumed(there's that word) that since everything from their other manufacturers being delivered were 2013's that the Redwood's would be also. THEY WERE WRONG.

When I read Royce Stanley's remarks quoting Doug Richards that there would be no 2013's until Fall I immediately called Doug and voiced my concerns. He confirmed Royce's remarks. I told him what I had been told and that I had signed build sheet which said I was ordering a 2013 and it was on that basis that I made my decision to buy and send the deposit. Before he got off the phone he promised me that he would get it "resolved". The next day I got a call from a chagrinned salesman who apologized profusely for he and his manager for promising me a 2013. Long story short, to compensate for their error they made a substantial price reduction on my "Contract". The whole matter was handled in a "stand-up" fashion by both Doug Richards and my Dealer.
All is forgiven. I just got this email from Doug today.

I will say one thing Redwood is working hard to make sure their customers are happy , at least it seems that on this forum.

I agree and that's kind of odd for an RV company

Being new and the asking prices, they should go at least a little out of their way to keep us happy. Maybe that's why we got my extra coaxes and the dinning room table from the FL (we wanted a true free standing unit so we can place it where we want).

I noticed the last four of my VIN is 2394, do you think it is the 2394th unit off the line or the 394th unit off the line?

I am going to guess 94th the 2 is for 2012 and the 3 is for march unless you have not received your rig yet then it would be 394th for the year which would make more sense because my last 3 numbers are 250 and mine will be here next week.

My understanding was that there were only about 100 sold since Redwood started through January. My VIN# ends in 2131. I might be number 131. Not sure how many now. Anyone know?
