I don't know Michelle......over the next week we're supposed to get quite a bit of snow and in Indianan they usually get more than us. Your "New Baby".... I fear will get baptized with the winter wonderland. Maybe I can make a few phone calls and get a little snow woman put in the freezer for you.

Dave,

I took mine out this weekend in the snow - I have no doubt it will get through the snow, but it is all over the road! That dually does not track near as nice as the expedition.

PS - that is the first time I ever had a dually out in the snow.

When you go out with a dually in the snow you need to add weight in the back concrete blocks sand bags etc
You have less lbs per square inch on the ground than single axles

Actually when I was still working in Western NY (Rochester/Buffalo area) I had a 50 mile one way commute and used the Dually when the roads were really bad, but I did have about 700 Lbs of Sand Bags behind the axles and GY Wrangler Silent Armor tires. The extra weight doesn't even hurt the mileage on those things because they're designed to carry heavy weight (you know like 4K pin weights).

I keep my extra fuel tank full plus I keep some chains in back to pull people out. I've never gotten that truck stuck yet and I'm out in the country where some snow drifts grow tall. The "Beast" is a tank and I've had the entire grill packed with snow. I've pulled the Redwood through some blizzard conditions a few times too. I just add extra water to the fresh water tank.

Ya I don't think my dually would get stuck, but the front axle seems to be doing most of the driving and the rear just kind of floats around where it wants with no weight back there.

it was pretty hard to keep it in lane this morning with no defined lanes in town. People just kind of moved for me

Those rear duals kick out more snow that the city snowblower!

Guy.....I'd just open the shades, pour a drink and laugh.....yep, there goes another one......ooops look at the way he parked.

My dad said last night that they had 5 cars in the ditches in a 2 mile stretch and it had only snowed about an inch.

Wicked footage of northern Atlanta last night. One truck looked like it was bent in half!

Being born and raised in the frozen north . The first thing you do come winter if you own a pickup is put weight in the back for traction. Next thing is buy tire chains and find out how to install them properly. Do not jump on the gas pedal start out slowly and when stopping pump the brake don't stomp on it. Dual wheel trucks have a tendency to float on top of the snow do to the fact there is Less pounds per square inch on the ground than Srw have. I have taken a 2 wheel drive with chains on and weight in the back farther than a 4x4 with no weight.get some sand bags or concrete blocks behind the fender wells and you will be amazed at the difference

Saw on television all the snow from Texas east & decided that from here in southern Arizona is as close as we intend to get to any of that nasty white stuff. I'll take heat over cold anytime, snow is pretty as long as I'm thousands of miles away.

We can always dress for the cold... undressing for the heat is a bad visual... naughty bits get burned and then there's the damn BUGS!

(and many of the units we looked at last week at the dallas supersale had THREE ac units )
