G614 Big Sky
I see Montana is riding on the Redwood paint scheme wings with their new flagship Big Sky - but wait.....
Big Sky = Goodyear G614
Redwood = Westlake maypops
....how embarrassing. Shame on you Redwood

Are the Montana Big Sky's priced comparably to a Full Body Paint Redwood?

I'm not sure what they are running. The website doesn't let you build and price without talking to a Dealer. Actually I don't even know what a Redwood runs anymore

Ya, but why go cheap on the G-rated standard?
When we shopped, we really looked at the Redwood as being less "mass produced" and that it was steps above anything Montana could offer, including the Big Sky. This Westlake thing just shows that maybe we were looking through rose colored glasses
C'mon Redwood - you certainly "one-upped" the Keystone line with the new LCD control gadget thingy, but you paid for it with the cheap tires! That's like wearing a suit to the wedding with cheap tennis shoes.

I don't know Brad.........several years ago when I was in the trucking industry we all complained when TOYO tires hit the market. I guess because of the name and we didn't know much about them. Now I would consider them as being a good tire. I've talked with several people that have ran them for a long time with success.
For years all I ran were Micheline tires and I don't think they're made in the U.S. either.

Dave,
I guess when you are trying to market a high end 5th wheel, you let the "competitor" be the test bed for the new tire. Redwood is getting enough grief without adding more tire issues.

I agree....but the real problem is that all the RV industry is getting knocked around right now. I've been to several of the forums of the other "High End" 5th wheels and everybody is complain about the same stuff. The problem appears that the RV manufactures are all playing follow the leader. In doing this they all are making the same mistakes and getting the same results.

Let's face it, it takes years and years and expertise to offer a high end fifth wheel with all the best parts available and with few problems. It will take time to see who can accomplish that. I believe several have accomplished that through experience but along with providing that quality of unit came big prices! As a result some of those high end manufacturers went belly up. Sad to say! I hope Redwood will continue to offer higher quality units and build on those with quality parts every chance it gets. If it continues to keep it's eyes open to quality products then it will become the leader and everyone else can only hope to benefit on it's coat tails! TIME WILL TELL!

My last SOB had Freestar G rated tires, don't know who made them or from what country, but never a seconds problem & wore very well after 5 years of fulltime towing. Would definitely consider buying again.

My new 2014 Ram came OE with Nexen tires. Now where the hell did they find these? I was in the tire business for 40 years and never heard of them!
