Anyone else notice the new floor plan on the Redwood site today? The new 40KB... It looks like a version of the Royals International and I admit, I sure wish I would have known this was coming out. I have not taken delivery of my new 36RL yet, and I admit I would have been hard pressed not to have ordered the 40KB instead of the 36RL. I like a lot of the design features of the RL, but I am not a fan of the side aisle bath...it's is very tight. I cannot wait to see photos of the new layout and will have to keep my eye out for finding one in person to look at. Nothing like finding something one might like better just before going to the dealer to sign the paperwork on a different floor plan one custom ordered...

Michael, well that just changes everything now... The storage garage I keep my coach over the winter months is exactly 40' and my current Montana fits in there with less than 1" between the door and the nose cap. Looks like this upgrading to my Redwood is going to cost me a whole lot more than I anticipated.... Thanks for the heads up!

I am curious as to where you got this size. The Redwood specs say this unit is Exterior Length </span>38' 11" .

They measure from the pin to the back. if you add in the ladder. that approx. 6 inchs and from the pin to the front nose is approx. 12 inch.

The factory diagrams that Redwood provides to technicians for each model shows the exact length, width, square footage, etc.

The pinbox does not protrude pass the front cap, in acutal fact it is set back under the front cap.As for the ladder, it is offset from the back of the coach. If you atke a look at a side view of a coach on this website you will see that it is setback. http://www.hitchngorv.com/RV-Details.asp?stype=fifth+wheel&amp;VEHICLE_NO=41263 3&amp;DEALER_NO=8182

Well I tried to put Red into the storage unit this past weekend and I am out of luck. The storage unit is exactly 40' 2" from back wall to front door and I am almost plus 2' out the front. Ladder to edge of front end cap appears to be almost 42' on my 2013 36RL. Shame on me for believing the brochure and not measuring the coach myself before placing the order. Off to figure out plan b now...
