I would get that bad boy, put disc brakes on it, 8k axles, 17.5 tires and don't look back ... you will be all set... only thing better would be the IS suspension with it... it will ride like a dream afterwards

That means it probably has 7k axles as well. You can always order one the way you want it through the dealer or if they will not change it for you. Ron AKA Titan Guy can add discs, tires and maybe replace the axles. 8k axles are relatively cheap

This one is at a good price. They want to sell and they will give me close to what was expecting for my Keystone.I lready been down this road with the Keystone with heavier springs cross members, my axles are 7k and the GVWR 14020lbs.
One thing dont makes sense to me is Redwood puts a total 14,000lbs axles on when like the ladies say their coach weighed in at 16,000lbs?So why not install 8k from the start?

They finally made the change this year to 18k axles as standard. With some of that 16k going on the pin the 7ks are close to max.
At least you have the right truck to pull it

With our experiences 8K axles and 17.5 tires with disk brakes would be the only way I would go. Primarily for peace of mind. the IS system looks to be a great fix too. Costs, I would agree around $6000 but well worth it. We also were looking at a new Redwood this summer and had to put it on hold because of family illness. Ends up to be better with announcement of Redwood finally doing what is right and putting safety aheld of $$$$$$.

My 39MB has 7k axles, 17.5 tires/wheels & stock drum brakes & it tows & stops just fine for me. We're not full timers & go out occasionally. If you negiociate a good deal, go for it & don't look back. You can always upgrade later if it makes you happy. Just my opinion

I pulled my Redwood all over the country moving every few weeks year round with 7K Axles, Drum Brakes and G Rated Tires, never had a problem with anything failing / breaking and leaving me stranded.
I did upgrade after 2 years of travel with my Redwood to the MorRyde IS and Disk Brakes, it was kind of like upgrading from a Chevy to a Cadillac, they both get me from Point A to Point B, but the Ride and Stopping distance is much better.

Like Rob said - you don't realize the difference in electric brakes and disc until you pull with them. Whole rig stops just like the truck alone if not better.
Will never own another trailer of any type without them.
And then there's the IS and another thing not to be without on a big, heavy fifth wheel.
Michelle, are you still happy with the hitch ? Sold 3 of them and Hershey and 6 more seriously thinking.

Way to go! I didn't think you would have too much trouble selling those.

Still happy. Moved it forward to center over the axle and raised it a notch as we were running just a tad nose low. Any way head and shoulders over the Tri-Glide and our Reese.
