Well, every auto company touts 'pleather' as leather too -
so we should go after them as well

Well, we bit into it... guess it's our fault for not recognizing it. But, I do feel swindled.

Well, the furniture is nice and comfortable but misrepresented. I was wondering when I started this if the first Redwoods were actually leather and then it was phased out due to cost. I agree they should know what they sell and describe it correctly. Not a deal breaker, just a concern.

Johnboy, what the heck is 'pleather?'

How about the famous "Falcon" charade! Wonder how many people got pissed when they thought they were avoiding Lippert and in fact they are more Lippert than most other RVs out there!

Anyway, I knew Lippert, faux leather, and could tell the cedar wasn't cedar before we bought.

I have unit 312 off the line and did not have real leather. Like Adam Ant I also knew right away that the cedar in the closet was not real, but I did not mention it to the wife

pleather - a common name I've heard faux leather called for years - maybe more in the ford ang audi arena since that's the last few cars we've had, but --- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_leather

Our car has faux leather, which I didn't know for a year. If it lasts longer than leather, I guess I'm OK with it. All of our leather cars are showing wear.

Guess we must be living on the wrong side of the tracks. Our RW is the first thing we've ever owned with faux leather and never came even close to anything with real leather. But we're comfy no matter what.

Your furniture stores advertise the same way. In this era it is definitely a buyer beware. I bought a Redwood RV, and I don't think there is a bit of Redwood in it.

We had Villa leather is our motor home and it was very nice but required alot of maintenance with quality products. After 14 years it still looked great. Our RL has the new leather? and after two seasons of seven months each all still looks great. Just maintenance with the same leather products and we hope it will last to when ever. We are very happy from our first RW viewing and touching and enjoy our furniture. Everybody has different needs/tastes and the nice thing is that you can make changes and ENJOY your investment.

My wife at first rejected the idea of the Redwood RV because she doesn't like the smell of ceder. Once it was determined that there wasn't smell, only the look....she became a happy camper.

As for the faux leather.....I wouldn't want real leather. To keep the weight down, they'd have to have it paper thin. Then we'd all be complaining about the leather not holding up.
