Stud size

I am looking to swap out the 16" Westlake Tires and wheel assemblies for what I have now , which is Goodyear 17.5 G114's that go onto a 9/16" X 18 stud... NOBODY at the factory can tell me what is on my 38RL , I even gave them the VIN... Can anyone answer if these will fit ? Can I use the 17.5 wheels with the lugs that came NEW with the trailer form RW ??

I don't think they've changed at all. I think that's part of the suspension issues. They use the same axles no matter what size trailer they build unless you pay extra for the 8k axles.

Thanks , that is what I am trying to find out... the size stud that they use.. with 3 choices.. 1/2" - 9/16" - 5/8".. I assume that the 5/8 is only on the 17.5/8K upgrade ... that leaves 2 to choose... my new trailer ( that I do not have yet) has the stock 7K axles.. I am hoping they are 9/16" so I can swap my existing wheels and tires to the new trailer..

Stock 7K axles on Redwood are 9/16". I am 99% sure that the 8K option is 9/16" as well.

Yes, even with the 8K axle/17.5 Wheel upgrade option they still use 9./16" Studs. As for Lug nuts, I would use what comes with the new wheels as the cut could be different between the wheels.

The size of the stud doesn't matter, its all about the size of the axle

My first stop would the axle supplier (Dexter?). I downloaded from the Dexter site my axle info for my 36RL. The sales info, on RW's site should list your axle rating. RW's Jan. 2015 brochure lists the axle weight as 11,194 total pounds for your 38RL. The standard FIT frame uses 7,000 pound axles (2-ea). An optional 8,000 pound axle(2-ea) is available. Your sales info should include which axle you have. The RW owner's manual references the axle supplier as Dexter for my 36RL. On Dexter's site they have great PDF's for their various axles. Hope this helps.

NO WAY! You have Dexter axles? Did Lippert buy Dexter? Your Dexter axles would just not be consistent with the FIT Technology.

Aren't they Dexter hubs on Lippert axles?

Not on my 2012. There were no Dexter parts in the drums or brake parts and the axles are labeled "Lippert".

I thought the greaseable hubs were Dexter. So are they just Dexter copies?

All of the axle mfg. Dexter, Lippert & Al-Ko make a greaseable end version.
It is not a Dexter exclusive.

Total am eating crow. I crawled under the rig and noted the Lippert label on the axle housing . As noted in another post EZ Lube is most likely not exclusive to an axle manufacturer. Fingers crossed I will make it to the RW rally without incident. My rig has about 500 miles on it over the past 2-1/2 years.

I never worried about wheel bearing issues on previous three rigs. This upcoming Aug. trip should be interesting.

Everything you see here is Lippert:

Falcon Integrated Technology - Redwood RV :: Full-Time Residential Fifth Wheels

You can add windows, and I believe all of the cabinet doors and entry door are now an LCI product.
