Did yours comewith the residential refridgerator? I was told that was going to be standard starting this spring.
I hope not! I haven't taken delivery yet. We selected the 12 cf norcold with ice. I don't want a residential unit. I know they are more room, etc, but I haven't quite grasped the concept yet for a camper. I certainly don't want to make room for 6 batteries which is what the residentials take.
I will have to check into the 6 batteries. The other brands we have looked at with residential fridges only had 2. I will check to see why Redwood takes 6.

It's not a Redwood thing, it's just what I have heard about the residential fridge setup. Someone may know better than me.

Our motorhome is "all electric" and includes the residential refrigerator, six house batteries, and a solar unit on top. Our new 36RE has the Norcold 4 door unit with icemaker that also works on propane and came with two batteries.

Supposedly the refrigerator in the motorhomewill operate 8 to 10 hours on the batteries using the inverter.

I don't think a residential refrigerator will operate very long on two batteries, but, perhaps, they will be making the generator a requirement for the residential refrigerator.

I read about a fella receiving his Landmark (I believe) with a residential fridge and the coach had only 1 24 series battery. He called the factory and they said it required 6, but he bought it through RV Wholesalers and they said it was shipped with enough batteryto get it there. That's where I got the 6 batteries from.

I'm assuming ours will not have the residential, as that actually should be cheaper than what we paid for the Norcold, and we have already started processing paperwork.

If - If I had known or could anticipate a residential fridge, I would have worked with it and gone with a huge inverter and rack of batteries instead of a generator. As it is now, with the Onan 5.5 there is no more room for batteries beyond the 2.

atom ant,

I have six AGM batteries in my battery compartment. Four of the batteries are on the floor of the compartment while two are on a small shelf placed above the lower four. All were installed by my dealer who ensured they met our state's codes for venting, etc. i could probably place two more batteries in the compartment if necessary. I also have the generator.

Found out the residential fridge is not standard but optional. The option package comes withstainless steelfridge, 1000 wattinverter and 2 batteries, along with the microwave and stove being stainless. Will post pic in a new thread to keep from hijacking this one.

Factory said ours has "left the building" - should be enroute or sitting in a parking lot somewhere.

We will be in Canton on Sunday. Do you know when you will pick it up?

Cool! We actually will be there Sunday whether it is ready or not. We are handing over our Montana to another buyer from Georgia coming into the Mill Creek camp. I'm hoping ours is at least there, but if its not ready we fly home and return the 19th. We will just leave the truck there.

It will take us about 4 hours to get there, so I expect to be at the dealership around 1pm. Perhaps we will get a chance to meet.

That sounds great! I'll be the one smiling in front of my new one.....or running around checking all the vin numbers wondering where it is.

I can't tell quite yet what our schedule is going to be, other than we get there sometime Saturday to meet these other folks.

Send a message via Yahoo to RollsRoyce

Brad, When you set your GPS if you want to save some agony ( from heavy traffic and lots of crappy construction) Use Alvarado, Texas as your first destination....Then reset for Alvarado to Canton...Good roads with a lot less traffic....If time permits we are in Burleson just north of Alvarado turnoff and depending on your schedule and time of day we might get to visit or if you need a place to stay and rest for a few hours

Kevin and JJ - Ours just arrived - so you can't be too far behind.

Royce - SW117, we have to delay a week so David can get it ready. Will save us a return trip to Texas via Boeing red belly.Edited by: atom ant
