We just returned to Prescott from the Quartzsite area and caught the last quarter and a half. Living in Chief territory, it was hard to cheer on the Broncos when they kicked our butts twice, but never saw that slaughter coming. Wow.

Brad - how you surviving this morning after the disappointment of yesterday's sporting endeavour.

From a supporter of football played with mostly the feet and a round ball, I actually watched the first half yesterday's match, but ended up with lots of questions. Can anybody explain how Seattle scored on the first play, when Denver chucked the ball back and the quarterback missed it. Couldn't figure how Seattle got 2 points without even having the ball.

Andy,

That is known as a "safety". As Seattle tackled the Denver player in "their" end zone...We (Seattle) received the 2 points.

Thanks Steve - sure has some fairly complex rules.

I had also heard about all the great adverts, but didn't think any were really exceptional. Maybe they improved in the 2nd half.

Johnboy,

Cricket - played as a kid while growing up in UK, not bad to play, but watching it is about as fun as watching paint dry.

Soccer is my type of football - coached both kids for 25 yrs and both still playing. Neither went the college scholarship route as daughter just plays for fun, but son played for all his ships and now plays on an ex-pat team in Dubai

Steve - did you check out all the celebrations in Seattle after the match. Was reading the Daily Mail this morning and they even had an article and photographs of the fireworks.

Looked like quite a party.

Wow - that sure put a sour note on our Super Bowl party

Half our group starting cheering the first play before they even realized what happened. What as waste of a great year only to have it end like that.

I went to college in Denver so I was rooting for the Broncos. I don't know if the Broncos simply didn't play well or of the "Boom Legion" defense of the Seahawks simple stopped them cold. When games are lopsided like that, the players who are on the field get tired and it's even harder to thwart the momentum. What ever it was, the Seahawks were by far the better team yesterday. I hope Manning will be back next year and the Broncos get another chance!

Johnboytoo - I love that Bubba Hover video. It makes a lot of sense that a hovercraft would work well on a course since it's lighter on the grass. The only problem is that they would be so fun to drive people would certainly be all over the place. I know I'd want to drive one ASAP!
