Hi All!
We are about to buy a new 2016 SQ38SRQ. We have been watching it since fall when the dealership changed to Jayco. Does anyone have any thoughts on why it hasn't sold?
Our home is the Pacific Northwest and most of our camping is in the West. We have children and grandchildren in No. California. This will be our 3rd 5th wheel, but we have been camping since we were newlyweds, from tents on up (like someone said, the older we get the higher off the ground our bed gets!).
After reading the posts we have a few concerns, primarily the suspension and the axles. Can anyone suggest other issues we should address before we sign on the dotted line?
We are looking forward to our first trip in the RW to Arizona for Spring Training, hiking, biking and Mexican food

Some of my thoughts: 17.5" H rated tires, hitch and disk brakes are the most common changes completed by Redwood owners. Various MOR/ryde suspension system mod's are frequently added along with an upgraded hitch. The replacement of the shackle links and bushings with MOR/ryde's heavy duty set is a minimum along with the H rated tires. I have the latter shackle and tire upgrade along with the Titan disk brakes. My Redwood has about 2,500 miles. The original shackles had failed to the point that the complete rear axle had nearly fallen loose (per the MOR/ryde technician) and one E rated tire (in new like condition) blewout causing nearly $10,000 damage to the Redwood. Thank goodness for excellent insurance. Others on this forum could share their experiences and recommendations.

My 2 cents. If you are still negotiating, get as many upgrades as you can that you have seen on here. Such as:
40# propane bottles
Progressive hardwired EMS
Disc brakes
8K axles
H rated tires
W/D
Satellite traveler on the roof
Vent covers
Generator or at least gen prep
MorRyde SRE 4000
Heck, I negotiated for a Yamaha 2000 inverter generator, does not help the coach, but a grand is a grand.

Thank you!
Thank you both for the info you sent us. We are looking into the suggestions and will probably try to upgrade our RW to include them. Will keep you posted!

With a smile: at least upgrade your RV insurance. I carry 100% replacement which cost very little more. These rigs, like all RV's seriously depreciate.

Who do you have your insurance with? Sounds like it paid for itself right away

We have had Safeco coverage for our RV's, home and auto's for the past 24 years. In addition to the RV damage they also provided excellent home coverage for tornado damage for three different storms (new roofs, siding and more).
