My wife and I ordered a new RL with full body paint and are patiently waiting for it's arrival in early April. After almost buying a Carriage and looking at 5ers for the last couple of years we finally decided on the Redwood due to it's weights and quality. Ours will have a GAS generator installed by the dealer, G rated tires, disk brakes, dual pane windows, 40# LP and the slid-in-slide options. We're planning a tour of the factory when ours is on the production line so we can see it during the build process.
Has anybody had any real issues with these trailer yet? We're going to spend the first night in it at the dealership in hopes of finding little issues before we head home.

The only real issue I had on my 36RE is one of the motors on the bedroom slide went out on our very first outing. I believe another member on this forum had the same issue and they replaced both of the motors on their bedroom slide.

Congratulations on your new order! I would
love to take a tour of the plant someday let us know how it was. </span>Mine should be leaving their soon it was in
paint last week. You say you got a gas generator? I have been looking at
campers for the last year and no one would put a gas one in, all were saying it
had to be propane I wanted a gas it is easier to find gas out in the boonies
sometime on weekends. Where are they going to place your gas tank? Are you just
going to have a quick connect and sit it on the ground? Not much room on the
right side with the batteries located their.</span><?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com ffice ffice" />

We just came back from placing our order for the RL, we opted to stay with the Propane Gen as we don't need to be carrying around gas, now a Diesel would make sense for us, but from what I've heard the Propane are very clean buring. So for now we're in the waiting mode, should get a tentative date in a few days.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new RL. My DW and I have been traveling full time in our 37FL and haven't had any issues worth mentioning. It's so much more comfortable than our previous travel trailer and having a washer and dryer on board has been a huge time saver for us.
I hope your's is as trouble free as ours has been to date.

Good luck with your new rig! Pleaseend me a picture after you get it. As for the generator, this dealer has installed them before on other trailers. He said the fuel tank will be mounted under the unit somewhere and it will have either a 20 or 25 gallon fuel tank with a gauge. I didn't want LP because it's so inconvient and you have probelms with them in the winter. It'll be a Onan 5.5 generator which should give me enough power for both ac units and heat pumps.

Thanks for the information and I hope you continue loving your trailer. The washer and dryer will be added to my rig in the near future. I got everything else that I wanted but held off on that option for now. I probably should have had it included though.

Sounds like there are a lot of orders to be filled before they get to my wife and I order, we ordered ours last saturday, what has been the average wait time for delivery? Welcome to the club Dave & Ginny I think you made a very good choice in in your Redwood.

I am wondering what is the cut off for the 2012's and beginning of the 2013's I'm not sure but I think those of us who are expecting delivery in late march could possibly be a 2013? Any thoughts out there? My dealer said the 13's are usually released in march.

Hey that's a good point! I guess we can cross our fingers, mine isn't supposed to be done until the first week of April. Originally they said the middle of March, I just hope it doesn't keep getting back.

An e-mail I have from a Factory Rep, suggests that the 2013s won't be out till around June with a 100% guarantee<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com ffice ffice" />
of a price increase, so we decided not to wait as our trade would be worth less later in the year also.

Well I guess mine will be one of the last 2012's then. I really don't care I'm just a little anxious to get it and I don't need any price increases.
These are already little pricey, I hope they don't price themselves too high.

Right now they're Hot sellers so the price will probably continue to increase until the sales start dropping off, then you'll probably see some good deals while they find the right point.

I thought I got a good deal when I ordered ours and it is no where near msrp it made me ask just how much mark up there really is in the RV market. After asking some questions I found that there is at least a 40% or more mark up. Like Dave & Ginny said I hope they don't price them self out of the market.

The pricing certainly has gone up a lot! We started looking at them in Feb 2011, but haven't sold our home yet. The pricing now is putting them out of our price range, I am afraid; the price listed on the sellers websites has gone up almost $40,000 from the first units we looked at! They were at $80k with full paint and most options then, and are at $120k give or take, now. I guess it will depend on what we can sell for. I really love the RW36RL floorplan.

Robin and Marian,
Yes they are increasing in price but I can tell you we got our 36FL for well less than 80,000.00 so if you don't mind shopping and maybe a bit of traveling to get the good deal they are out there.

We got ours with a generator, disk brakes, G rated tires, ice-maker, dual pane window, slide-in a slide, heat pumps, #40 LP, sleeper sofa, full body paint and a B/W hitch for well under 80K
Go shopping and have fun. We limited our shopping to a 7 hour drive from home.

Dave and Ginny, may I ask what the name of the dealer you used for your rig.

Robin 'n Marian,
Generally the advertised prices are MSRP. We first looked at Redwood coaches in June of 2011. We started the quote process, finalized what we wanted In early July 2011 and placed our order. I found that the quoted prices were right at 36% below MSRP. Others have said that they purchased at 40% below MSRP. So, I would suggest to you not to be too discouraged by advertised prices. We placed our order through Tiara RV Sales on the north side of Elkhart, Indiana and took delivery in October.
Our 36RLcoach has the options of generator prep, two A/C's, Kodiak Hydraulic Disk Brakes, Goodyear G614's, 4 door refrig. (no ice maker), Trail-Air Tri-glide pin box, slide toppers and water filter. We also added an automatic satellite dish. Our delivered price was $71.5K. The MSRP would have been around $112K at the time. I can tell you we are very satisfied with our coach so far.
We had been looking at semi-custom units for 4 years prior to last year and those definitely finally got beyound our budget. And I have been told by folks in that market that prices are going to coninue to go up.
Good luck in your decisions.
Guy
