Would love to be a part and offer any help needed! I feel the rally would be a great place to get some teeth into it!

I'd be in for a Redwood Owners Club if we think it would benefit the community even if it costs a little $$ to get it going.

I believe we have a significant interest, we should plan to have a discussion at the rally on the topic to see where it goes.

Full timers need to beware of letting a 2+5 warranty lull you into false security. Ou dealer (Explore USA) can not even look at warranty issues before 6 weeks out and then the warranty authorizations from Redwood and other manufacturers can take another 1-3 weeks. How would you feel about being told you will have to be out of your new home for a bad slide motor for 6-9 weeks......

I think I'd be looking for a new dealer to be doing the fix and would be on the phone with RW myself pushing through the authorization. 9 weeks for a fix like that is unacceptable!

The time frame has nothing to do with the 2+5. It would most likely be the same if you had just a 1 yr. warranty.

I can guarantee you I would be getting a new dealer, as that isn't my experience with getting Redwood to approve warranty work.
Our dealer's service department has a specific person assigned to warranty approvals. Our last 2 warranty issues have been approved if not the same day, definitely the following day.
The last one was replacing the awning lights and the previous one was fixing the brakes as they were contaminated by grease.
We are happy with both our dealer and RW.

Most of the bad stories I hear are caused by the dealerships or lack of communication. Many times I don't believe the dealers are doing their job.

Dave, I agree completely. Unfortunately, I think too often that dealers are more interested in the "actual sale" rather than the "after sale" which includes great customer service, proper training of customer service departments and proper training of actual service departments. But then, we as customers also like the lower cost of the actual sale.

The happy ending to my sad tale is that I was referred to a local indecent repair company (Rv service company) in dfw that fixed my rig in 48 hours and I am back on the road. If your Redwood needs service in the dfw area, I recommend calling John Williams at RV services. They are an authorized warranty repair center.

X2, it ain't just Redwood. Our friends brand spanking new Alpine bought from the same Dealer as where we get our Redwood service. His maiden voyage the belly pan fell down full of water. He was told the earliest they could get it in was late July!!!!

I don't think the dealer has to be certified by Redwood to work on these. If they aren't a Redwood dealer then Redwood can likely get you preapproval to take it there for warranty work.
I've done this in the past due to dealer short comings... Typically a service only facility that's willing to do warranty work will provide better and more complete service in my experience.
