I would agree with you, the only reason I can see that wind would have much effect on the dish is the aim and its ability to stay on the satellite. Heavy rain/ snow that is a different story, that will affect the dish and the signal strength.

Coming home from AZ a couple of years ago, we spent the last night in NE Oregon, in early April, we had winds so strong that the wind was pushing the street side slide in a bit. I was so afraid that the dish would be torn right off the roof, so I stowed it for the rest of the night. Only time that has happened in 10 years on the road.
