'12 36RL 110v wiring/ breakers
When we camped near the end of the season before winterizing, we like to use the 'milk house' style heaters. And frequently tripped breakers. Determined which breakers controlled each recep throughout the unit. Did this about the time I was winterizing also. Wanted to know where I could run the heater and not have her coffee pot tripping breakers, etc. Found out that there is a lot on the GFCI circuit. Seems that Redwood should have split that into 2 circuits or increased to 20 amp instead of just 15 amps. Maybe this will help other RW owners. Possibly other models are wired similar.

Here is a drawing set for the 36RL as well. The second sheet gives the electrical layout and the panel schedule. It may be outdated, or even a different panel, because it sure isn't close to what you have

Brad, agree with your post. Had the pdf already. Seems strange that the receps by the rear sofa run from 2 different breakers. Also the central vac / dirt devil is powered by the gfci circuit, it is behind the distribution panel below the bath deck. But now that I know what runs from what, I can safely run the space heaters and not trip breakers. It took a while to figure it out too. Many trips inside, then back outside to find them all. And of course I will be creating legible labels for both the 12 volt fuses and 110v breakers since it looks like a 5 year old wrote them out while standing on their head. It's a shame they weren't printed professionally. I emailed WFCO ( the distributer of the panel) about obtaining a new label and they said none are available. And they are across town by the Elkhart airport complex. I suppose I could buy a whole new replacement lid, but why bother with the added expense.

One more note about my distribution center. One of the breakers has 2 wires in one, so it is piggybacked. I don't remember if it is the gfci or which one right off hand. It is one of those on the far left end of ours. We are still getting the freezing rain / ice crap and I am not going to go out to look. Will let you know in the spring I guess.

The same 5 year old writing the labels also ran the wires, I'd bet a beer that if there are 2 RWs out there that are wired the same it was totally by accident. Their schematics were used to count how much wire to use & not where to go with it.

And here I thought all a long they had hired a Retired Doctor to label the Electrical Panel, thanks for clearing that up.

Just curios Vaughan......just how much would it cost Redwood to hire you to make a sheet of labels to go in each trailer? I can't believe a company like this wouldn't consider spending an additional 3 or 4 dollars and retire the 6 year old with the pen.

You're right Dave. It would probably run about $4.00 a coach to make up a label strip and do it right. I've got to do the same thing Chris did as I can't read mine either ......

It would cost more than $4 to have someone rewire them all the same so your labels would work.

Maybe since they don't know which breakers control what, they just make the labels unreadable.

I don't think it's that they are cheap, I think they just have never got feedback on it, and the guy doing the writing figures nobody cares or noticed. Maybe it's time to take a few pics and send it back to Andy. It would have to cheaper to label them than write them just from a time/labor perspective.
Residential homes are not any better. It's like the last thing to get done, and not the right tools or the right guy to do the job.

When I read the top of your post, I thought "I really should do this so I have that info for my '12RL". Then I scrolled down and you had listed all your findings! Thank for sharing this. Saved me a lot of effort.

Here is what my 110v breakers and fuse labeling look like. Definitely not 'Cherrie Fox' who records the weights. Her penmanship is worlds ahead of this. I do plan on having everything relabeled and mapped out before we use the RW again in the spring. Wake up Redwood!!!

I wish I could find that picture of mine - they are totally illegible.

Your breakers look great, fuses not so much, but I would be happy if any of mine were as legible as your fuses & not in some sort of idiots short hand.

+2 Danny, compared to Chris's mine look like they were written in a combination of Chinese and Shorthand. It's on my list to do, just haven't made it down that far yet. I'll probably get the coach ALL sorted out and just the way we want it and then ...........

The Library has plans for a 36RL. Don't know if that will help.
