If you raise it beyond 13 feet 5 inches, you may start running into clearance issues with a lot of over passes on the highways. Most of the interstates are built for a minimum clearance of 13 feet 6 inches at over passes, but not always.

The highest point on my 36RL when hitched to the truck is the satellite dome at 13 feet 4 1/4 inches. I plan all of my trips based on clearances 13 feet 6 inches and won't go anywhere less than that.

Myclosest measurement on bed rail clearance is measured at 3.75 " my landing gear is 8.5" my exhaust pipe is 6.75" clearance. My roof clearance at highest point is 13'4". So I am very up tight every time I tow. Not much I can do. Possibly route my exhaust up and out the side of the coach😳 That would look like a redneck design! LOL

That Joy Rider Trailer Shock Suspension System for 3 Inch Axles does look like a well designed kit. It is a bolt on system but does require 4 holes to be drilled into the I-beam above each spring bundle. It seems like it would be a good addition for those of us that can't afford the MorRyde IS. I installed the MorRyde SRE-4000 and Heavy Duty Shackles Kit last summer and this Joy Rider Kit looks like it would be compatible. This might be my next upgrade. The best pricing that I have found so far is roughly $520. incl. shipping for the 2 kits required for a tandem axle. That seems about $100. too high.

It's the best designed kit out there the shocks are at the proper angle to work correctly I have to laugh at the guys that show me there factory shocks sitting at a 45 they don't do much at that angle but hey they got shocks with the center point and joy rider shocks I have to look to make sure the Redwoods still back there

That is much closer to what I would expect the price to be. I will check it out.

Thanks,

Guy

The published weight does not include any options. The "out the door" factory weight includes any options you may have ordered.

Yep, those published weights are for a naked trailer and that's what gets so many folks in trouble. They go by that weight to match up with a TV, then once they load it and run it over the scales are shocked to find out they're over weight on they TV.

You definitely need to do your own homework because the salesmen will tell you what you want to hear to make the sale. I haven't found a truck dealer yet that can give you all the specs on a tow vehicle. Their reply is usually, "it will pull anything you can hitch up to it". Same with most RV salesmen only they say, "any 3/4 ton diesel will pull this. That's why you see those 20,000 lb triple axle toyhaulers with "E" tires going down the highway,80 mph, with a 3/4ton diesel pilling it!! Scares the **** out of me!
