Battery Replacement

We need to replace our trailer batteries now that they are 5 years old. We currently have 2 deep cycle 12 volt batteries. We have not done any boon docking and wonder what the group recommends for replacement? Do I need to stay with 2 twelve volt batteries or should I change to 2 six volt or 1 twelve volt? If it matters we do not have a residential refrigerator.

I swapped last year to 2 of the lifeline group 3 AGM’s.....

When I have to replace mine, AGMs will be put in, to save the hassle of checking/adding water.
