The sevice center taughts me to run the slides in all the way.... then out just a few inches....then back in. After doing this a few times, the system was as good as new.
Same for us, after spraying the tracks with the teflon lubricant and running the slide in/out a couple of times...problem is gone!!!

After further investigation I find that both upper corners of the slide are closing correctly along with the lower right corner. There is a 3-4inch gap in the lower left corner. It almost looks like the mechanism has skipped a few teeth on that bar. Can that happen?
I recently added the 'H' bar in that same corner due to a small crack that several other RL owners have experienced. Is that repair related to the slide not closing properly?

I don't think the cracks are related to the slide. I don't know about skipping teeth but I think I would run it in and out several time and see if it corrects itself.

Our slides have been working, but I would like to know why we are gettin wood shavings that look like saw dust every time we take them in and out! I find it in the area by the refrigerator and by the bedroom slide near the bathroom.

Run your slide out about 2-3" & back in(continue holding switch for several seconds), do this 3-5 times & should square it up, worked for me.
As for the sawdust, there was apparently no clean up during construction, sawdust, cutouts, screws, wire pieces can be found in every nook & cranny you open up, if you don't clean it up it will eventually quit falling out.

I get the sawdust - it blows in from the return air vents while traveling. I took down the basement wall and got in there with a vacuum and just about got it all gone now.

Thank you! I was worried that something was rubbing and wearing down the wood on the slide as they went in and out.

Thanks to all for the feedback! I've tried everything that you've suggested but the lower right corner is still not closing correctly. Looks like a trip to the local RV expert is in order. It's quite a coincidence that the problem is in the same corner that the 'H' clip was just installed a few weeks ago. Is anyone familiar with that process? Do they have to derail the slide to do that work?

It does sound like something is holding up the one corner. I'm not familiar with the H clip install. Here is the alignment video from Lippert just in case you need it.

Thank you so much. We are ordering the part and a mechanic will come to the campground to install it. It means we won't leave today as planned, but at least we don't have to be back for work this week.

Update on the slide issue... the RV Service Manager at the local shop says the gears on the problem corner have been "chewed up" and must be replaced. They suggest I replace both motors and frame for the slide out to insure we don't have to do it again in the near future. He is not a Crossroads dealer so I have to order the parts from Tiara RV and he will do the installation. He didn't have anything nice to say about Lippert and stated that they see this problem with all of the RV brands they work with. Has anyone else on the forum faced this problem? Could there be an alternate slide mechanism that will be more dependable?
I also need a part number for the full 36RL slide assembly. I can't see the motors well enough to get a number. Where would I find that information?

That would be one heck of a conversion to try to change it over to cables or hydraulic.

Lippert should be able to provide you part numbers for all of it, or even Redwood, even if you are not buying through them.

I was just test driving a new Tiffin Phaeton and was surprised to see that on their small slide they use same type of system that Redwood uses. He said they only use that on their SMALL slide and they haven't had any problems at all.

I'm not sure what kind of system Excel uses but I don't see any cables or shwintek. I know that my 2004 Hitchiker had an electric bedroom slide but I remember looking underneath the bed and there was a fake floor, when you unscrewed the fake floor there was a gear system and an electric motor that operated the slide. Never a problem with it in 9 years and if there had been a problem everything was easy to get to. The rest of the slides were hydraulic. with never a problem. That's one reason I wanted to stick with hydraulic slides when I replaced it .

Okay I need some help I have want I think is a slightly different issues. I had the bedroom slide floor replace at the Dealership and when I brought it home the slide ran out perfectly, but now I need to report to new job assignment and I cannot get the slide to come in.

It will come in about two to three inches and stops, it will go back out, but not in. Please help.

Did you try using the CRC Lube with Teflon on the slide rails? This is a common issue that the slide rails need lubed at least every 2-4 months. I just do ours a couple days before we are to leave and have not had the issue in a long time

Number 1: Make sure there is nothing in the way of the slide, stopping it from going all the way in. Number 2. If I remember right, every time you use the switch to open or close the slide you need to hold the switch in for an additional 3-5 seconds. This synchronizes the motors. You may have to try that several times. Also, already mentioned, the slide rails need to be lubed. You can also go to LCi website and they should have instructions on how to reset the shwintek system.
