Cleaning the two side awnings
Until now all my rigs awnings were able to be lowered and washed with a long handled brush with soap and water. Now with my RL I have to wash the under side and rinse and then my wife hits the retract button countless times and I wash the top edge as it is rolled up...6 to 8 inches at a time and then I have to rinse everything again. There has to be an better way without going up on the roof. Is there a way to make the awnings kneel down for cleaning or am I to continue as first mentioned?
Thanks in advance.

I wash mine the same way you do on the bottom, on the top I clean as far as I can reach, then retract to roll up what has been cleaned and then clean what I can reach... until I'm done.

I mix some Simple Green into a pump up sprayer & spray liberally on underside as DW rolls them up, let set for 30 minutes or so & rinse, seems to work well for me. Also use same procedure on the roof (except the rolling up).

Danny,
Does the Simple Green do a good job cleaning the roof? I have been trying to decide what to use on the roof.

It's worked well for me, just don't scrub or rinse to quickly, let it set on for a while. Works well on the bugs on the nose also, same procedure.

All the rubber roof companies say to use Spick and span. I have used S&S and it works great on the roof, never used it on the awnings, always use a boat top cleaner.

That's a great idea. Wish I had thought of it.
