Adamsvr ~ Just noticed that you mentioned having the dogs with you. We have an appt scheduled for Aug 13th, right after the Rally and travel with a dog and cat. With the stuff we have to be done, I'm thinking it won't be just one day. Where were you able to stay with the pets with you, or did you have to board them somewhere ?
Thanks in advance !

Hi piperguy, yes we had two medium sized dogs and a cat with us during our visit to the Service Center. We opted to stay in Goshin, Indiana at the Best Western and brought them with us. It is not the greatest hotel, but is pet friendly. A little bit pricey, at about $100.00 per night, including taxes, but they do serve breakfast. We found a GREAT breakfast can be found at the Lux restaurant. When you order one egg, you actually get two. Goshin is about 15 miles away from Topeka. In Topeaka, they have an Amish run restaurant called Tiffiny's - just be sure to have the hashbrowns ordered extra crisspy, otherwise they come out blond.
Also, depending on what you are having done, plan an extra day or two for them to order and receive the parts. Crossroads does have hookups down the street and it's a great place to let your dog just run freely. Good luck and enjoy the rally. Cheers, Vic

Reflecting back on our experiences on staying at the Best Western Hotel and at the Crossroads Service Center, we really came away with a great appreciation for what it takes to put our Coaches together and get them to us. The hotel was filled every night with transport drivers, getting $1.38 per mile as payment to get them to wherever your dealer is located. Kind of put a new perspective on waiting for our Coaches. All and I mean ALL, the employed at the Service Center, were extremely nice, concerned about resolving our problems, and very proficient and professional. I don't know if you are aware, but there are about 150 people that work on building each of our Coaches. Here, here to all of them!

We are scheduled for September 17 and allowing at least 4 days to fix our issues. We just noticed the sidw wall crack under the bedroom slide. We have enough things to keep service busy. We are turly looking forward to seeing the operation and meeting the great folks who have helped us thus far. We have several issues, but nothing that cannot be fixed.

If it's made by man, anything can get fixed. When Crossroads repaired our rotted floor, they went above and beyond and replaced our sidewall too because they feared water may have migrated into it. Can't even tell it had been worked on. Good luck with your appointment Happy Camper and piperguy!

Hi Vic!
You mentioned staying at a hotel while they were working on your unit. Was that your choice or because of the particular work they were doing (on the slide) or do they not allow you to stay in your rig overnight when its there? We've always stayed in ours while having work done at Lazydays -- either inthe bay where they were working on it or in one of the spaces they have with water & electric for those having work done.

SueMar, it was because we had to get our dinning room slide pulled out and the floor replaced. That took a full two days. Other than that, we stayed in our coach, while they worked on it at Crossroads.

Vic,
How is the Permanon sealer holding up? My front cap has some oxidation and I was thinking of using an oxidation remover then sealing it with the Permanon sealer as I don't feel like hauling the RW to the dealer for it to sit there for a few weeks and maybe get fixed. Also, do you know what strength they mixed the Permanon to? Seems it comes as a concentrate and can be mixed to varying percentages depending on the application. Trying to decide wether to use Meguiars oxidation remover then wash and seal with Permanon Yacht sealer vs MS gelcoat restoration kit fromhttp://www.marinestore.com Anyone used either of these? Thoughts?
Thanks,
Neal

Well Neal, its only been a week since the fiberglass specialist buffed out the oxidation and applied the Permanon, but so far so good. Shines better than new!
Coming back to our campground we wound up getting a whole lot of bugs on the nose cap. Last night it rained and virtually wash them all away. I like that!
Permanon comes in a concentrate, so a little goes a long way. You are supposed to mix 5% Permanon with 95% water and apply it with a microfiber cloth then let it dry and use another cloth to remove the residue. Subsequent applications you can reduce the mixture to 3%.
Hope that helps. Vic
