For any of you who are taking your Redwoods into the Service Center, be advised they would like your units in at 7AM on the day of the appointment. The Service Center is located at:

1115 W Lake Street
Topeka, Indiana, 46571
Toll Free: 855.226.7496

They do have overnight hookups available at their old headquarters. It's located about 1/8 mile from their current location. It has 30/50Amp and water hookups, with a dump station around the side of the building.

We are currently staying at the Circle B campgrounds on Hog Back Lake in Angola, IN. It's about 30 minutes away from the Service Center and recommend it highly, except for the hard water with rust.

Highly recommend anyone planning a service visit to either find a campground or drop your RV before attempting to negotiate Topeka, IN. US 20 is good; however, County Route 600 is the straight shot. Problem is it has overhanging trees and a hard right hand turn onto West Lake. Be extremely careful of all the Amish buggeys and the bicyclists.

On West Lake you'll pass an Industrial sign on the right - turn here to find Crossroads overnight camping next to the old corporate hqs on the left - free. Continue straight on West Lake for 1/8th mile to the Crossroads Service Center on the left. Good luck. Vic

My Crossroads Service Center is Berryland RV in Hammond, Louisiana. I'm scheduled to get a few things repaired right after school starts in September when camping slows down in the area. Nothing major that can't wait.

Hope every thing goes well! I wasn't aware that Crossroads had a repair network... just a Crossroads dealer network. As Redwood opted to use its parent company (Crossroads) for service and warranty, we decided to take it to its corporate hqs for all our repair items. We'll see how they do, but we're hoping for the best... so far so good. Will let you all know how it went.

Best of luck at the rally... wish we could have been there.

Vic,

What is "amiles" function at at Crossroads? Service manager or service scheduler?

Thanks for posting this information.

She is actually the person that schedules all the service appointments and orders the parts from Redwood and the other manufacturer's.Her name is Andi - she basically runs the shop. She's extremely nice. The service manager we are dealing with is named is Randy. We had a laundry list of warrant items and all of them are being addressed.

I got to give Crossroads some big Kudo's!!! So far they are exceeding our expectations.

BTW, If anyone needs to spend the night, we are staying in Goshen, IN at the Best Western. It's about 15 miles away from Topeka. It's OK, but nothing fancy.

The new hookup's at Crossroads for overnight stays have water and 50/30 Amp power, with a dump station around the side of the building. Very easy to back your RV's too with plenty of room.

Vic,

This is exactly the information I was looking for so I can schedule my 2cd annual warranty inspection which I need to have done in the Sept / Oct time frame. It appears that scheduling appointments needs to be done about 2 months in advance. I live only about an hour away from Topeka which is much closer than driving to my dealer. Also, I am not sure I completely trust my dealer to do what is supposed to be done relative to the inspection.

Again, thanks for the information.

Guy

After being stuck in a hotel for two nights, we're back in our Redwood and feeling much better about it. Will start a new thread on what transpired; however, would like to advise the easiest way to the Crossroads Service Center in Topeka, IN.

From US 20 take Route 5 south and make a left at the BP gas station, W 700which turns into West Lakes, to the Crossroads Service Center on the right.

Vic,

What was your impressions with the Crossroads RV Factory Service Center?

OK, guess I'll just continue this thread.

First impressions... it was a lot smaller than I'd expected. The nondescript building could hold six or seven RV's in it. All the people working there were extremely nice and truly concerned to take care of our warranty issues. Our lengthy list was three pages long which was sent to them prior to arrival and all issues preapproved.

I won't go through all of them, but will highlight the major ones:

Our Lippert frame was rusting. Crossroads repainted the entire frame, front to back. Looks better now than when we bought it.

Our dining room slide floor had dry rotted from water entering the bottom drip edge. Mold had started to grow on the inside and mushrooms were growing on the outside. Crossroads pulled the slide, replaced the entire floor, resealed the bottom of the slide with waterproof material, shampooed the carpeting both on the front and back, and reinstalled the slide. I can't tell you how much better that makes me feel.

Our bedroom slide-in-slide had the waterproofing membrane wear away where the rollers are. Crossroads lifted the slide, replaced the membrane, and then installed ten six by 24 inch metal plates under all the rollers for both slides.

They fixed our water heater so it would run off both electric and propane. Previously it only worked on propane. They also replaced the black plastic covering over the water heater reset buttons.

They reset the garage doors to make them square to the unit.

Unbeknownst to us and much to our surprise, they had a fiberglass specialist come out and buff out all the oxidation on our front and rear caps. Then he used a product called "Permanon Yatch sealer", available at ABS Gloves on the web, to seal it. It looks fantastic and shines better than new! Wow!!!

They replaced our old DVD player with a new 3D Blueray home theater. What a difference!

They replaced several trim pieces.

They installed a new 50amp socket on the outside of the RV... something we didn't ask for but was recommended by Redwood.

Our front door has a broken hindge for both the screen door and the main door, and our remote keys don't work. Crossroads ordered an entire new front door and new screen door. We're still waiting for that at their hookups at their old HQS building.

Speaking of which, this place is really nice for our dogs. We just let them out the door without leashes.

Oh, one more tip I picked up from Crossroads... when caulking spray the caulk with a soap water solution before using your finger to remove the excess caulk. Makes it really smooth and the caulk doesn't stick to your fingers.

All-in-all, we are overwhelmed with the service we have received from the Crossroads Service Center!!! Many thumbs up. Kudo's go to them! Vic

Oh, I forgot to mention, that Crossroads had a Lippert tech come out and inspect all our jacks. He tightened the hydraulic connections and rewelded one of them to the frame.

Adamsvr... it sounds like they gave you the royal treatment! Treatment you deserved! <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><O:P></O:P>
In your description above you said "They installed a new 50amp socket on the outside of the RV... something we didn't ask for but was recommended by Redwood."<O:P></O:P>
Was there a recall pertaining to that socket or an issue with your unit specifically?<O:P></O:P>Edited by: Grandpa

To tell you all the truth Grandpa, I don't know. The old one was round with a silver cover over it. The new one is black and about three inches square. Our shore power cable fits right in and it's seems easier to tighten the securing ring onto it.

Exactly. The flange screws for my receptacle protrude outward and prevent me from tightening the lock ring on my cord once it's plugged into the RV.

UNDRPSI, best of luck to you all! The tech's really like talking to the owners and rectifying all our issues. There are number of owners who come off too strong with them and their units seem too linger. Remember, when dealing with people, sugar works a lot better than vinegar.
