The owner's manual is very clear on the owner's responsibility regarding maintaining the 2/5 yr warranty. As owners we must complete the annual inspection at our cost within 30 days of the purchase date anniversary each year.
Failure to complete this inspection voids the structural portion of the warranty, as outlined in the owner's manual.
The warranty is only available to the initial purchaser.
Hope this helps.

Please don't take this the wrong way anyone. I understand the 2/5 warranty thing and all. The inspection required by Redwood is a roof inspection. See my pic on page two. How is this structural? Roof structure maybe. I have a hard time driving over two hours to my rig, pick it up, drive it 4-6 hours away for a roof inspection that requires an appt and probably leaving it, because we know how most dealers are. I would think that any RV service or RV service center could perform a roof inspection. A lot of you are full timers and some very far from a crossroads service center.

You need to make sure you discuss this with Redwood before making any decisions.
We bought our 2012 36RL from Tiara RV in September of 2011. When I asked them about the inspection requirement the following year, they were unaware that an inspection was even required. They reluctantly did the inspection and then I had to have it done again later in the year when I discovered at the 2012 Redwood rally that the inspection was required to be done within +/- 30 days of the purchase date.

Talk to Redwood you may be able to get a mobile tech to come onsite for your inspection. A few others have received approval from Redwood.

Snider,
See my earlier post above. Redwood will no longer allow mobile techs to do this, asked them that today. They did say that any Crossroads dealer (not just Redwood dealer) can perform the inspection though.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the quality level of the inspection, or they wouldn't let most of these Dealers do it either. Sounds like Redwood is making some commitments to Dealers to not work direct with owners (parts) and to not farm out work to non-Crossroads Dealers.

I would think it is more to do with having a little hold on the dealers. If they have a problem on a unit after it has been inspected by the dealer, they can go back and hold them somewhat responsible. If it is done by a private mobile person, they can't do anything.

I guess I will just rely on my extended warranty coverage. I have only used it once to get the toilet replace, but they worked really great with me.

Here in texas explore USA is the only place for redwood. Sounds to me something under the table is exchanged to lock up that portion as well. It's not like our yearly inspection is free. We have to pay someone Why not keep paying exploder USA and not the Mobil techs who in my mind do a better job in getting the job the first time

Might want to check the conditions and exclusions on the extended warranty. Ours specifically excludes any items covered by the OEM warranty, so if we didn't conduct the annual inspections and lost the warranty, our extended wouldn't cover items included in the structural warranty.

Ended up scheduling with Camping World here in OK. Even though this particular location doesn't sell Redwood they are familiar with the inspection and mentioned they'd only charge me for one hour to do it and I could wait while they did it. Refreshing. Hopefully they don't disappoint like other Camping World locations have in the past...

Are they an authorized redwood inspection station ?
Again, best check with Redwood or Crossroads

Yep, When I called Redwood yesterday they said that any Crossroads Dealer can do the inspection. Based on that I used the dealer search directly on the Crossroads website (not Redwood) to locate the dealers I called.

I just hung up with RW and both Terry and Lynn said that ANY Certified RV dealer can do the inspection. They do not have to be a Crossroads dealer or a Redwood dealer. Have them fill out the form in the owners manual, send the signed form and a copy of the receipt that you paid for it to RW and it will be "attached" to the records of our coach. All's good

Their inconsistency is pretty humorous. Either way it sounds easier than going to just Redwood dealers for which only a couple of us seemed to have good experiences with.

Do you know where in Redwood you send the inspection? I don't want to assume Windish did, even though they probably did.

My concern is that whomever you talked to at Redwood didn't put it in writing like the warranty papers specify...
What if down the road you have an issue and they say "Sorry, should've had a Redwood!" dealer do it - someone may not be happy...

I would suspect that it would be sent to the Customer Service dept via an email, or PDF, I can find out. When I had out of pocket receipts, I sent them to Lynn and he got them reimbursed.

Very valid concern, I will see if either of them will email me with a statement that says we can go to any RV dealer for our annual inspection

Ok, so here is what I found out today.
Talked with Bill at RW customer service and he said at first that the inspection needed to be done by either a dealer or service center approved by RW. I told him that was not what I was told yesterday so he went to his supervisor who confirmed to him that ANY RV dealer could do the inspection.
I said, ok is that in writing anywhere and he said no, but he would inform all the folks answering the phone that it was the case.
So I said I would post the info on the forum for all to see. He said, wait, let me just take it to the director to be sure.
He came back on the phone and said, the inspection needs to be done by Redwood or Crossroads dealer or service center authorized by RW. This is to prevent some Joe Schmo taking our $$ and not doing a proper inspection. The dealers and centers that work with RW or crossroads are familiar with the requirements that they are looking for such as leaky seals, loose caulk etc.
So, I guess the bottom line is have your inspection done at least by your anniversary date or within 30 days after that date by an authorized dealer or service center. The results of that inspection and a copy of the receipt should be sent to warranty@crossroadsrv.com.
When I asked him about the folks that fulltime or travel quite a bit and how are they to go 300-500 miles to get it done, he said that was what the 30 day grace period was for. He also directed me to use the dealer locator on their website to find someone nearest to where we are.
Not what I was hoping for, but there it is.
