Just saw the new build sheet - 8K axle option is gone.

I'm not sure you need 8k axles. I weighed my trailer with it completely loaded and the axles weighed 12,820. The fresh water tank was close to 1/2 full and I think the grey water tank wasn't completely drained either. This still gives me 1180 lbs of grace.

That doesn't mean it's gone though. There are many "special order" items that aren"t on the build sheet - like the special sat roof wiring, furniture, windows, etc.

I wish I knew about the 8Ks when I ordered my Redwood. Need them or not, I would always think seriously about heavier running gear.Edited by: 5th_Time

I agree we don't need them, but they weren't that much more in the end. It would have been sweet to see the 8K with 17.5 wheels like the DRV.

I bet we will see them on the new Carriage units...stripping options off the Redwood to slide over to the Carriage. Just talk and rumors throughout the industry.

I don't know, because the real problem with these trailers is the vibration and bouncing down the roads. The 8k axles would be nice for the extra weight carrying capabilities but it would also give a stiffer ride. A stiffer ride means more things get shaken apart.

I'd love to see them offer the MoyRide or an air ride system. If the new Carriages are heavier I would hope that they would consider it.

I wished they would have offered the MorRyde axles also. We would have gotten them right off. Now I have to have them installed after the fact. Dave check out are suspension at the rally..Hope the paint is dried! No more shaking for us. We go in that monday for the IS.

By comparing the 2013 and 2014 build sheets, that was the only option that was pulled. I had some fit issues between my 8K springs and the equalizer spring hangers, which could have led to them being pulled from the list.

We've got approx 3K on our Mor/ryde 8Ks and 17.5 "H" tires. And you can tell that our RL rides smoother than it did with the OEM 7K axles and the "G" tires. We too would have ordered our RW with those options if they had been offered.
