I, and several other Redwood owners, have been experiencing a "popping" from the Level Up jacks. Mine occurs randomly so I can't give a specific situation that causes it, other than the jacks being deployed. The popping can be both heard and felt when in the trailer.
I emailed Lippert Inc about the issue and this is the reply I got back from Gary Marvel from LCI customer service:
Can you provide me with the date of manufacture and date of purchase along with the vin so I can create a file I recommend that you have the system inspected for possible internal seal bypass</span></span><div id="yui_3_2_0_5_1332788910238546" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: normal; ">Gary Marvel</span>Lippert Components, Inc.</span></span>Kinro, Inc.</span></span>Customer Service Division #39</span></span>Divisions of Drew Industries</span></span>1701 Century Drive</span></span>Goshen, IN 46528</span></span>574-537-8900</span>Fax: 574-534-7161</span></span>gmarvel@lci1.com</span></span>
You may want to contact him if you're experiencing the same popping from your Level Up System</span>

Ugh... I'msuspicious (and worried) when multiple people report their units have the "issue". I always hope the manufacture's tech people will say, "Yes,we've had multiple reports on this issue and here's is where to start." Instead, many times youhear "We'venever heard of that before. You need to start at Square One - like yours is the first unit to havethisissue."
If it turns out that itactually isan 'internal seal bypass' issue somewhere in the system, that sounds like it will be along, difficult diagnostic & resolution. This is a major problem that might bean issue on all ourunits.

It's not a big enough issue to stop us from our full time adventure.
We'll be in Dallas in December for our annual inspection so if it's something that needs shop time to repair, we'll have it done then.
One of you Texans will have to put us up until our unit is ready...hehe... j/k

Kinda sounds like what would happen if there were air in the lines. Edited by: John317

That was my first thought too Art but I've cycled these things 15 times and they still do it. I would think any air in the lines would have been worked out of the system by now.

If it is a closed hydraulic system like a brake system, I don't se how the air can get out. Cycling it just seems like you'd be pushing the bubble from one place to another never getting rid of it. Maybe the system needs to be bled. Have you talked to tech support at the manufacturer?

I spoke to the factory about this and as I expected they refered me to Lippert.

I have now found that the two front jacks are leaking a small amount of fluid. I have tightened the three bolt at the bottom of the jack, but still leaking. I will be contacting the dealer service for further info as I do not want to over tighten these. the other four jacks are dry so I am hoping the front ones are where the popping sound is coming from.

I wonder if its not from the rams being made of aluminum and contracting enough to let the hydrolic fluid seep bye the seals. Just a thought.

I also have a tripod under the front. I wouldn't think that would effect the jacks as I have just snug for stability.

We also have the "popping" sound and movement from our 2012 36RL that we bought at the end of October 2011. We didn't know if it was the levelling system or the frame. Thanks for the contact info for Gary at Lippert. I have started reading the forum posts and will add our experiences also. Just have to find which it the most appropriate forum!

Explore USA in Ft Worth, TX is getting me in on Thursday morning to look at the jacks and a few other small issues we are having. They know we are full timers so they made sure and have a clear schedule for us when we get there.

Also, it will give us the opportunity to pull it a couple of times and maybe get the air (if any) out of the lines.

I was camping this past weekend and experienced the level system popping sound many times over the two days. I believe it is coming from the front jacks. I have no fluid leaks from the jacks themselves. Those of you that are taking your unit in please post the findings. Thanks -Dean

Both front jacks are leaking internally. I am waiting for replacement or repair of the jacks depending on what Lippert/factory authorizes. the noise is getting worse, but the service tech told me that it was safe to use them for now. It appears that several of us are having the same issue. Everytime I walk over the jack area it pops - making me a little nervous. Just hope they get the parts in ASAP.
