Hi, All,

I've noticed that the black and maroon full-body paint is a prized option in purchasing a Redwood.

However, aside from it's dramatic good looks, is there a long-term benefit of purchasing this full-body paint option...in durability and/ or reduced maintenance of the outer surfaces?

If there is a benefit, do you feel the up-front price is worth the investment?

(Thus far, having the paint or not having the paint both reside on the same indifference curve for me.)

Thank you!

Robt.

I'd say that the price difference is about $5000 to $6500 more depending on who you are dealing with...They are definitely beautiful units and definetley look good with black or maroonish (red) truck....Take really good care in wash and wax or you might have more of a paint fade issue and use plenty of shade remember it is mostly a dark color including dark a/c covers...Ihave the time to take3 care of one but I felt I could use the extra cash for other things like fuel.....Sometimes I don't want to post a picture of mine because its std paint and a bright fire engine red truck...However I still get a lot of stares and waves

Well all the units are painted, but full body paint units also paint on all of the graphic designs. Non full body paint units graphic designs are adhered decals. The issue I've experienced in the past is that the decals are subject to fading and shrinking from UV rays. Most of these issues can be mitigated by covering your unit in storage, frequent waxing, or some other type of sealant. I do not have full body paint, but I did spend $1400 to have the unit finished with an 8 year Trident coating. They will warrant decal fading and shrinking for that period of time. The full body paint from RW is very eye catching and is typically something you only see on high-end motor coaches.

I went with the Black and Tan full body paint as I feel it gives the coach a very classy and unique look. The paint is just like a car for the most part. It will look good for years to come if you maintain it and stay on top of it. I did not order the high gloss on my current coach I am trading in and while it looks good today, when a brand new high gloss white coach pulls in next to me, I can really see the fading/yellowing that has started over the past 2 years. Downside to paint: it shows all the scratches, swirl marks, and rock chips. In my opinion, if I were ordering another coach again tomorrow; I would go for the full body paint again without a doubt.

Full Body Paint is an aesthetic option. There's no maintenance "benefit". If you need it, you can't live without it. If you're indifferent, you don't need it.

We have the full body paint and absolutely love it. It is a real "eye catcher". I am somewhat anal about maintenance and wax the coach monthly. If we had to do it over again, and if we realized the three options were available (we saw the maroon/black/cream option at the Tampa RV show and didn't inquire about any other option) and had to choose between the maroon/black/gold/cream and the black and silver and tan/gold/cream full body paint options, it would be a real tough choice. If you are going to keep your coach for 5 to 10 years, the full body paint is the way to go in my opinion.

I agree for the long term, the full body paint and gel coat is the only way to go. Easy maintenance and eye catching. We have the gold/tan and cream. There are two of us here at our campground.
