Portable Fire Extinguisher

Without getting too carried away, I upgraded the existing portable fire extinguisher in the Redwood to a 1-A:10-B:C so I could at least get some Class A rating. This one has a secure bracket for RVs

and of course the old one needed a home (5B:C) so it went to the basement for papa's bad cooking

Please refresh my memory. What capability does the new one have that is lacking with the OEM?

The replacement is rated for Class A (paper-wood) in addition to B (liquids) and C (electrical). The factory B:C is most likely just sodium bicarbonate and is primarily for the kitchen cooktops.

Brad,
Absolutely love all the mods you made !!! Outstanding job, very professional and I hope it is ok that I steal some of your ideas

By the way, what is the black plastic thing to the right of your basement fire extinguisher ?? Is that a dryer vent ??

That is the outside awning switch cover that you should have received as part of the safety recall notice.

Oops...sorry to steal your thunder Brad.

Thanks Spindrift. Ours has a wooden door over the switches to prevent accidental operation

as was ours:
I think the factory did that as a stopgap for those being built last summer when they started sending out covers.
Not sure what the newer ones look like, but the pic below is from our 07-13 built 38gk...

(I'm getting the impression that Atom Ants will no longer be a Redwood by the time he stops 'upgrading' He strikes me as a fiddler = it would be prudent of Redwood to follow along !)

No problem - thanks for answering!

I feel a little silly posting some of these as I know there are those out there doing some very serious mods like suspension and water systems, but if somebody can use the idea, then all is good .

I originally put the exterior outlet covers on my switches at the Dealership before rolling back to CO, but I think I like the looks of this black cover better.

I already had the outside outlet cover on when the Redwood cover came. Instead of changing, I mounted the Redwood cover on the wall upside down and use it to put small items in so they don't get lost in the basement.

I found the Redwood cover works good upside down to hole the remote for the basement Tele.
