Quick connect water outlet

Redwood wizards:
Is there a trick to connecting the quick release hose bib to the connector in the utility center. I can't seem to get it to hook up??

I had trouble with mine, had to tighten it back up. It was as if the collar wouldn't slide back far enough because it had come loose on the panel.

At any rate, I fiddled with it trying to tighten it, and it works great now and that was a year ago.

I had the same problem but shrugged it off as new, and needed to be used a few times. After trying and trying, I was able to get it connected.

It sounds like you aren't able to push the ring back far enough to release the balls. Sometimes you have to give it a little persuasion. Use a straight blade screwdriver to push the ring and tap it backwards a few times. You may need to work your way around the ring with the screwdriver and tapping. That ring has to be fully back to release and allow the balls to move outward when you push in quick connect fitting.

They replaced mine after service center techs couldn't connect it, they had the wrong hose with wrong faucet.

Danny,

Now that is whole different story. Somebody at Redwood is not paying any attention to what they are doing. As they say in the NFL "C O M M 'O N M A N"

Insert a screw driver into the hole in the receiver and tap it lightly with a hammer. There is some kind of stopper on the inside that sticks and will not allow you to insert the end of the hose fitting.

Try connecting it with all the water pressure released. Shut the water open the sinks and then try it. It will certainly be easier and you won't get wet.
