Roof Sealant

I know this has been posted before but I can't find it in a search.
I'm going to replace the tv antenna and need to pick up a tube of sealant .

What is the correct stuff to use on our roof and where is best place to get it ?

As usual , many thanks in advance.

Vaughn, The sealant you are looking for is available through www.PPLmotorhomes.com or call them at 800-755-4775. It sells for $6.89/tube. There are 2 types, non-sag(used in vertical situations) and self-leveling used on roof or around items on roof. These are Alpha systems sealant which is what Alpha recommends for our roofs.

If you are going to replace your antenna with a Head antenna, make sure to get the optional base cover also. The Head antenna will not cover all the holes required by the winegard antenna. The additional base plate will make your replacement much neater.

No ~ going to be the guinea pig and replace it with the new Winegard Automatic HD OTA antenna. It comes with all the plates and adapters to replace the batwing.

I'll let everyone know if it was worth it. Rig is in storage. I'll see what I get for stations with the old antenna and then change and try the new one.

Vaughan - how much was it? I've been watching but never saw pricing yet.

Note - don't stock up on that sealant - it has a 1 yr shelf life.

No it's not Dicor. Its Alpha. I've used Dicor, but I wasn't supposed to according to Redwood.

Piper guy,

Be sure and let us know how it goes. I have my finger on the order button and interested how it goes for you.

I couldn't decide whether to get black or white, but settled on black. Which did you decide?

My mistake. The antenna was the King Jack, not the Head.

My Jack lasted about two months before I broke it off my roof. I reinstalled the Winegard. I had a messy roof from all the patches and sealant.

I ordered the black. It's still really cold here in Merryland so will probably be next month before I install.

John, did you do the RV-Armour? Been looking at their pictures and videos. Looks like a nice product. If you don't mind, can you PM me what you paid? There are two vendors in my area. Thanks.
