roof trim warning

I my yearly inspection and repairs. I removed the plastic trim cover that is covering the trim screws just above the gutters. . All the screws were rusted out so bad that I had to use vise grips to remove a lot of the screws so i could fill the holes in with caulking and install stainless steal screws , #9x1". The trim was full of dirt and condensation. This is what it looked like.

Mine isn't that bad, but I need to replace it as it tend to come out often, especially on the Sunny side (6 months Winter in Florida). That strip seems to shrink and get brittle over time, pretty cheap to replace.
