I just took delivery nov 11 on a 36rl. I have a lot on the lake and have a direct tv sat. dish there. I tried to hook it up at the out side hookup. but I can't get a signal on the inside. I have tried all three orange cables above the tv in the living area and none of them give me a signal. I figured out that one of them goes to the connection behind the tv, but I haven,t been able to figure out where the other two go to or where the signal from the outside hookup comes in. Anyone have a clue?

I had an issue like this with three unmarked coax connectors. I simply disconnected everything jumped across the center to the shield and ohmed out the other end and identified and marked them all.

I could not figure out the factor wiring for the sat.
Ended up running new wire and hooking up to the plates in the service area.

As near as I can tell, the advertised Sat Prep is more of an advertising ploy. This is suppose to be a Full Timers rig and to me that means a Dish mounted on the roof with at least 2 and most likely 4 coaxes and a control cable, unless you're parking it and don't plan to move, then you could go with the SlimLine Single Wire Dish (this is all in reference to DirecTV Service). I was told by a Regional Sales Manager that they could install the required cable, but now that my order has been placed I'm being told the dealer will have to install everything. Because Sat Prep just means a dedicated RG6 coax from the convenience center. Big deal, that's been done for years.

We evaluated DRV, Carriage, North woods, NuWa and Redwood when we were deciding on a replacement rig for our Cameo. None came with a dish installed and all considered sat prep as running a coax or two and in DRV's and Carriage's case (not sure on others, forgot to ask) 12V.

I get more aggravated at marginal axles and tires and not having disc brakes as standard equipment. Disc systems are far, far better than 100+ year technology... I was speaking with the sales rep at Lazy Days and he thought it would be great if they offered an upgrade package with higher capacity axles. G's and disc brakes....

The axle up grade will coct $1200 and will be for 8000lbs each axle, putting the gross weight at 18000 . The factory rep said he thought this would beat the coach to death going down the road, otherwize I'd get it because I've already upgraded the tires and brakes.

Had a long talk with Redwood Customer Service (Brian Emmons)today. Seems they do run 2 coaxes from the roof to the Entertainment Center with a third coax to send the sig from a sat rcvr to the bedroom TV. Only problem, at least with the newer DirecTV rcvrs, they don't have an RF output any more. There is suppose to be a 3 or 4 conductor power/control cable that runs into the Bedroom, but the big Winegard needs 6 conductors. I'm trying to see if I can get a cable from Winegard so I can send it to the Factory. I was told they could lay in all four coaxes I want and if the control cable didn't happen that it would be easy to send it down the AC duct.
I got a straight answers to most of my questions, where I had been getting different answers depending on who I asked. The best we could tell, ours hasn't started production yet and we're still waiting foran approx delivery date. We may end up spending part of May here in Florida, but only time will tell. Never thought we would arrive for the winter in one rig and head home in another.

By package I was referring to a package listed in a brochure or on line.... The reason being is that if you ask five different dealers what an upgrade to disc brakes will run you'll get seven different answers. If Redwood had a package price it would be less likely you'll get screwed, blued and tattooed....

Got some new info today about Sat Prep. I was looking to get the cables installed during assembly to support the Winegard SK3005 SlimLine Dish for DirecTV HD. Coaxes didn't seem to be a problem, but a sticking point was the required control cable. I offered to get one to supply to the Factory, so Brian contacted their Winegard Rep to see what he could do. Seems Redwood does install a control cable that works with all Winegard Trav'ler Dishes. So our unit should be all set with wiring, 2 cables to the LR for the DVR, 1 to the BR, and 1 into the Basement Curb Side. And the control box goes into the BR, which is fine since you just turn it on after set-up and turn it back off during tear down.

Anyone have any input on which Winegard dish is best? Plan to buy our first when the new trailer gets in. Have Dish service now and from looking on line I am considering the Trav'ler SK1000

Can't help you with Dish Network. For us with DirecTV the only option is the SK3005 SlimLine if we want HD, which of course we do.

We went Direct years ago, before Dish was even around, so we've just stayed with them. We use the Winegard Trav'ler SK3005 on the roof. It's the large SlimLine dish, the same as you would have at a stick house. More and more CGs have Satellite friendly sites and if you're stuck in the woods even a portable might not work. And because of the size of the dish for HD, it would need a heavy duty tripod and good anchors, so the automatic on the roof is much much easier, push a button and it does it's thing and in a few minutes you're watching you favorite shows.

I have a new 2012 Redwood 36rl. Having trouble getting satalite to work and also off air (antenna). Have not had to opportunity to try the cable. I am getting voltage on what should be a dead line. Please send a wiring diagram to:

Jack you might want to call the factory they do not monitor this forum, but I believe some people on here have the schematic you are looking for.

We don't have a dish yet....we are surprised at how good the antenna works! We did have to go through the set-up on the system and then it worked fine. The surround sound is great too.
