Smelly Vac

We have the central vacuum. It smells a little funky around the steps where it is located, and I think it is the bag. It's not an old bag...maybe one or two sweeps in it. It smells kind of like a wet dog. Does anybody else have this problem? Any ideas on how to alleviate the smell.

Have you looked behind the wall of the basement? The issue may be a leak and the vacuum just brings the smell out due to circulating the air.
