Structure crack

We have had the familiar structure crack reappear on our Redwood, the first time in summer of 2014, and now again. Still waiting on the dealer to tell us if Redwood is going to cover it under the "+5" structural warranty.

It will interesting to see how they fix that - for us that don't have the 5yr Structure Warranty. Thanks for the Pics.

Hard to tell for the pics, but it sure looks like you got somethinng more going on there. I would be opening up the front end and checking for cracked or broken welds as it sure looks more like damage from frame flex. Sure hope I'm wrong.

I agree with Michelle & Ann about a frame issue and should have it looked at. From what I am told any RW that enters the RW service center is tested for frame flex on the pin area. RW knows there were some bad frames from LCI but never could get the years suspected. My front molding like yours was loose but a screw here and there took care of it. They tested ours and it passed, I think there could be more to yours then we see but I truly hope it's just a few screws. Call RW yourself and never wait on the dealer in my opinion.

Well, that's a definite disadvantage to being 2300 miles away from the Crossroads Service Center, also the reason we don't yet have the MorRyde IS yet. This was what the dealer's service manager sent to me:

Your side wall isn’t as bad as I thought….Looks like it needs to be re-bonded to the sub frame and replace the failed lags in the molding…. I will get with warranty and Redwood and see what they recommend.

That makes no sense to me.

Structure crack

Thought not as bad as yours, I've been fighting the same issue for well over a year. It started happening not to long after I had the stress crack repaired. Redwood keeps saying it's not a big issue and is just cosmetic. The dealer has added bracing which didn't help. After I contacted Redwood to complain they got with the dealer and had them add lag screws. This helped some but not totally. I just got it back from the dealer after they added additional screws so we will see what happens.

Got ours fixed in Garner, NC at the Camping World there in 2018. They have a fully equipped body shop and the bodyman does excellent work. Redwood warranty covered our repair. Frame welds had broken loose because it was only spot welded. Told that broken welds created to much flex when towing creating the crack.
